I also agree that rioters need to be stopped. However, they didn't reach an unacceptable level of violence, IMO - with a single exception. This was not a city-wide mob scene, this was a few dozen people acting like animals for a few hours. It could have been much, much worse.

No. I advocated an appropriate response to dangerous rioters destroying property and fighting people in the street. I said nothing about military police. They would only be called in to police a civilian population under martial law (in the US).

No, but you arguing that this guy is dispensable, he doesn't deserve equal protection under the law, you are arguing that its ok if his civil rights are infringed upon.

This was clearly a situation without law. This was not a stable, normal day on the street. Yes, he 'deserves' state retribution, and I hope he gets it. Shouldn't be difficult to find the perps, as it was videotaped.

But you can't expect a cop to protect you on-the-spot, from a violent mob that you just fucking walked into, provoking them with the opposing colors. That's not realistic at ANY time.
