Metro ticket sales don't lie. Period.
What were the Uber sales like in 2008? :?:

Do they lie?
Seriously? I've already put this to bed..... streets get shut down.... there's no driving anywhere near the mall for two days before and several days after the inauguration.

Also, almost 100K more rides the next day. Also, hotels lost a boatload of room reservations after he won. They only perked back up to 2013 levels when the women's march became a thing.

Plenty of facts exist to prove there wasn't a bigger crowd than in '09. Not one fact to confirm such a ridiculous claim.
Account abandoned.

The fact that many news outlets copy/paste stories and present them as their own is not news. We've known this for years. The less informed are just catching on, but you and I and most here have known this for a long, long time.

We shouldn't have to re-have that discussion every time there's a new story. We'll never get anything accomplished if we have to keep doing that.

But that's fun. It's entertaining! And it's much easier to argue over the squirrels than to actually physically do anything.

But no facts to back up the Daily show pictures and misreporting about crowd size. No one is disputing that Obama had more people show up to his inauguration in 2009 than Trump's in 2017, except for Spicer. The lie helps the perception of Trump's inauguration as being huge to the public and doesn't undermine Spicer's credibility in comparison to media's to any degree worth holding back that one lie. He lied to help his boss, that's his job.

Trump just needs to get on with the business of governing and stop farting around with this sort of thing and that dumb Twitter feed. The campaign's over. Nobody gives a damn how many people showed up on the mall. What we're looking for are intelligent policy changes what will stimulate economic growth and create jobs for more Americans. He needs to focus on that like a laser and never lose sight of it.

Stop doing the things that help him win because de officiis doesn't like it. I'm sure Trump will get right on that. The electorate doesn't care about policy but they do care about jobs and economic growth, they don't care which economic policies achieve these results, they only care about the results. Using twitter and attacking the media doesn't harm his ability to focus on creating jobs and economic growth, so why would he stop when it clearly benefits him?

Trump had a winning hand at FIFTH largest attendance ever, but instead counters a lie with a lie. Trump may know how to work his base but I'm never going to get used to propaganda vs. propaganda debates.

Embrace the solipsism! What is truth anyways?

He has an even bigger winning hand with the lie. If you are Trump then why just tell the truth when a lie combined with the truth will simply be more effective? He's a pragmatist, not an idealist.

I don't think they are helping him at this point. They convey the appearance of someone who is petty, vindictive and most importantly, distracted--even if he is not. Also, caring about economic growth means caring about policy, the two go hand in hand.
