Results are the measure of top performance.

Hernia Hospital de jour: choice of Paul's, gets results: Hybrid

America: most powerful economy ever. Hybrid

Hybrids just can't stop #winning. Diversity is our strength and so forth.
Like I said, as long as you get to make up non-measurable qualifiers for "top performance" then hybrids can win. Those highly scientific measurements like "which hospital did politician X choose? Wow, that''s the #1 performer right there!". Derp.

But if we're working with a measurable metric, like efficiency, they lose, lose, lose.
;)

Maybe we should measure top performers by which one prints the largest denomination of currency - I think that makes Zimbabwe the top performing economy, right?

Yeah, I guess the only way we can measure how an economy or a hospital is performing is 'efficiency.' In DB world, nothing else is even measurable.

I am sure there is a tidy formula that doesn't reflect reality, and a clever counterfactual that proves America's powerhouse economy would be even better if it were a purer market.

You could measure it by popularity and proliferation as well, if you like. Not every country has a capitalist market. Not every country has a communist economy. Not every country has a hybrid economy.

But every country DOES have a black (aka free) market.

Booyah.

That somewhat unsettling odor of something distasteful smoldering nearby - it's your ass. I just set it on fire with facts.

True, not every country has a hybrid economy. Just all the most robust and the richest. Like, America.

Good facts.

"Powerful" "robust" "richest" and other vague, non-defined, opinion-based measures of supremacy brought to you by the man with smoke signals arising from his posterior.

Well, one thing we know for sure:

That evil Randy selected a Canadian doctor solely on the basis of the shittiness of the American Hybrid Market and the glory of the Canadian Commie Market. He probably even thought he would get away with it.

Talking Points Memo nailed that damn hypocrite. He probably gets Canadian Bacon shipped down there to Bumfuct, KY, on the sly.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c ... _(nominal)
The United States is the world's largest economy with a GDP of approximately $19.39 trillion, notably due to high average incomes, a large population,[7] capital investment, moderate unemployment,[8] high consumer spending,[9] a relatively young population,[10] and technological innovation.[11] Tuvalu is the world's smallest national economy, with a GDP of about $32 million, because of its very small population, a lack of natural resources, reliance on foreign aid, negligible capital investment, demographic problems, and low average incomes.[12]

Although the rankings of national economies have changed considerably over time, the United States has maintained its top position since the Gilded Age, a time period in which its economy saw rapid expansion, surpassing the British Empire and Qing dynasty in aggregate output.

A pity you never mentioned LARGEST, because that can be measured.

Funny he didn't choose a country with a purely private health system with zero public funding, what with them being the most efficient (the only measurable metric, I hear).

Largeness is one of the many measurable parameters mentioned. Yes, it is also the largest.

How bout you get me some more of those much vaunted facts you claim to have, and show me a purely market system that has any longevity (robustness, very measurable, eg how long has it been a top performer, which is also measurable along many vectors), and anywhere near as much actual wealth generating capacity as the hybrid monster of inefficiency that is the USA.
