Re: Beyond Woke
Most of CA is like that. Los Vegas, NV is like that. OR is like that. WA is certainly like that.
I just drove a National Park loop through CA, NV, UT, WY & MT and people were wearing masks even on hikes though less than half. I haven't been in FL or TX lately.

Around here, I know one person like that. Some kid my company just hired fresh out of college, no one else is like that. Even the gay people I knew in college were not like that.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:17 amYeah, you have. If the pockets of this are so small, how do they have control of everything?

I’m sure I’ve met some, but they don’t remain in my life for long. All of my acquaintances are wondering wtf happened, and stocking ammo.TheOneX wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:49 amAround here, I know one person like that. I’m not arguing, just relating my anecdotal experience: I travel a lot; these people dominate everywhere I go. Could it be that you live in the exception?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:19 amThat’s literally the problem with America right now.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:06 amIf the pockets of this are so small, how do they have control of everything?

Anywhere between the Rocky’s and Smokies is the exception. Little enclaves of crazy people stacked on top of each other, and all the rest are normal-ish.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:27 amI’m not arguing, just relating my anecdotal experience: I travel a lot; these people dominate everywhere I go. As the population ages, the “normal” regions will shrink.

Re: Beyond Woke
You do not have to control everything to make it feel like you control everything. What they control of the spheres of influence NYC, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, Human Resources, and universities. This gives them great control over perception. They their power over these domains to influence domains they do not control. For example, most CEOs are not woke, but most CEOs also do not have any principles beyond maximizing profits. So they are easily influenced to enact woke policies because the woke use what they do control to make CEOs think they will lose money if they do not. CEOs would be easily swayed into anti-woke positions if we can convince them that wokism will lose them money.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:06 amIf the pockets of this are so small, how do they have control of everything?
For the most part, I think politicians are the same as CEOs. Most of them are not woke themselves, like CEOs they do not have principles other than to be corrupt and get re-elected. They believe being woke will get them re-elected so they go in on being woke. It mostly works due to the woke controlling most mainstream media.
This is why I do not see this battle a a political battle. It isn't about who is and isn't elected. It is a money battle, it is about where we spend our money. We need "Go Woke Go Broke" to not just be a saying, but a reality. We need to turn the establishment against wokism. The only way to do that is with money, as that is the only thing they care about.

That’s not a bad read but you know my analysis focuses on FMWs. Fortunately you have a remedy for yours; unfortunately I do not for mine.
