As to the Tom Clancy-esque fantasy about JSOC going into the DPRK, that's really a reflection of how the American public just doesn't grasp how little intelligence the Pentagon is actually able to glean about North Korea, in terms of that level of detail, the detail required to execute that sort of operation, it's opaque to them.

They really have no idea what's going on up there for that level of operations, maybe they can track mobile ICBM's with overhead assets, they can locate major military installations and manuevers, but in terms of get in, get Kim, get out again? No chance, and they would never risk it being so blind to what they would be sending them into.

The most remarkable feat of this regime, is how they are able to conceal so much from the outside world and for so long despite being the focus of so much attention, even the combined intelligence agencies of the United States can't see much through the fog.

Most of what you know comes from defectors, but they're all kind of like "Curveball" from Iraq, they could be totally full of shit, you really have no idea if what they are saying is true and/or accurate, and there really isn't a reliable way to verify.

The ELINT/SIGINT/COMINT/HUMINT cone of silence in the DPRK, it's actually quite amazing in this day and age, their principle defense being that they are so low tech, they use some tech, but so little that it doesn't provide a picture.

People who've lived their whole lives inside this regime have no idea what's going on at the upper echelons of this regime, the idea that the Pentagon has any clue, is delusional.

The North Korea Desk, they deduce, they extrapolate, they track from a great height, they make educated guesses, but in terms hard data and detailed information on who, when, where, why, and how? They really don't know.

The discipline of the North Korean regime is hella impressive, they must literally do almost everything face to face with no signal traffic at all. The idea that the NK's are a bunch of clowns and JSOC could just waltz in there and bust a move? No.

The North Koreans are way too good at what they do, if they weren't, they wouldn't be able to remain so opaque for so long with so many assets trying to find out what's going on up there.
I have no illusions of SOCOM taking out the trash in North Korea. I spent some time just south of there in Pusan. I know the resolve of both militaries and the people. South Korea has it good and has grown soft like the American people. Life is good for them why would they want to go to war over the north they feel sorry for.

Just like fat, laz, Americans they want to watch whatever game show is on instead of rolling up their sleeves and doing the dirty work. The military on both sides have great discipline. And since they will have to pay the butchers bill they are empathic enough to try any means other than war. That only ensures a higher cost and more violence before it gets better.

It's not going to cost America anything significant, nuclear weapons are comparitively cheap, exponentially cheaper than the conventional option.

Even a cheap cost is far too much to pay in exchange for no gain, that's a net loss. So, good thing you aren't CinC, not only would you go Nuclear Hitler, you'd have no good reason to go Nuclear Hitler, other than "they are an abomination". You might as well claim that they "looked at you funny" as justification for nuking them.

I'm sure China and Russia will be perfectly fine with you nuking North Korea for no discernable reason, they'll never assume that you'll turn around and do the same to them the second you start to view them as an abomination. But nuking North Korea is still worth it, they are an abomination and all.

Inherently unstable, existential and imminent; America First; Article 51; ridding the world of the abomination is merely a byproduct.

Not imminent at all. They aren't going to nuke America, you mainstream media propaganda mark. At this point you've got to be trolling for lulz, because your comments make no sense in any other light, if that's not what you are doing right now, you are just making a fool out of yourself.

At the threshold of North Korean two stage fission-fusion intercontinental, hair trigger alert, I simply disagree, I would be unwilling to have the United States remain under that threat, indefinitely, in that paradigm, and thus I would interdict to prevent it from coming about in the first place.

So why aren't you advising America nuke other countries who have two stage fission-fussion intercontinental, hair trigger alert? Apparently that isn't enough for you to nuke other countries, just North Korea.

Also nuking North Korea isn't going to be just taken in stride by every other nuclear power, the hornets nest it would stir up alone would make the idea ill advised.

Even putting aside the questionable strategic logic of nuking Pyongyang, I'm sure the Russians would just be thrilled to see a few missiles suddenly rise from the ocean depths towards their general direction.

Don't think a quick heads up on the Candy Red Phone will mollify him either. Ivan may not be Crazy, but he is (rightfully) Paranoid, and his sight ain't what it used to be either, what with his radars that kept getting the ranges on the last few NK long-range tests wrong and leading him to truly believe their weren't ICBMs despite literally everyone else watching (China, included) confirming they were. With Dead Hand still active, that's one hell of a gamble you're making to just give what for to some Old-School Communist Cosplaying Kings of the Dirt Hill.

I deem the paradigm with Russia and China to be far more stable and reliable, none the less, I remain at 15 minutes notice to launch against them, which invokes them as imminent threats by default, North Korea however, doesn't get to 15 minutes notice to launch, on my watch.

North Korea seems a lot less dangerous than Russia or China, especially when it comes to nuking the US. Stable or not, nuking them makes far more sense than nuking North Korea. Your rationale is just dumb, give it up already, you are clearly trolling for lulz and have no argument. Just admit defeat and move on to a battle that isn't hopeless because you've dug on an indefensible argument.
