Yeah Brodeur. We were slow as shit, picking a bunch of old veterans who didn't play well on the big ice. Nagano burns the worst, of course, Hasek out-dueling Roy was soul crushing. The only thing that salvaged it any way was that I got to get up and watch the game at 1:30 am on a school night, but still.

Nagano definitely gutted me, altho I hate the narrative about "not putting Gretzky in", as if Wayne was ever the master of the shootout, which he was not, and Hasek was in the zone, Wayne wouldn't have made any difference at that age, maybe when he was young, but at that age he had been reduced to a shifty playmaker, he wasn't the Wayne of yore.

The saving grace there is that we didn't get far enough to get really invested, but losing to the Russians in quarterfinals fucking sucked.
