No one who plays video games is prepared for shit.

They're prepared to serve in the Navy, we only need them to defend the sea lanes, and that's mostly button pushing and looking at video displays, I mean, yeah, they'd have to do some boatswains work, but they don't have to be SEALs.

Those that play video games constantly have less of a chance of willingly do manual labor. Trust me, I saw it when working for Game Stop. They have more in common with Stay-Puft than Pele.

In 1996 Tom Church, a monumental mason from Brechin, was inspired by the 1995 Mel Gibson film Braveheart while recovering from a heart bypass operation. He carved a 4-metre (13 ft) tall, 12 metric tonne statue of Wallace from two blocks of sandstone. The statue resembles Gibson's depiction of Wallace, featuring a targe emblazoned with "Braveheart", a military flail, and a claymore. Calling the statue Freedom, he leased it to Stirling Council, who in 1997 installed it in the car park of the visitor centre at the foot of the craig.


There it proved to be controversial; The Independent described it as "among the most loathed pieces of public art in Scotland" and one local called it a "lump of crap", but the statue remains popular with tourists.

There's a lot to be learned from video games, in terms of basic survival, and managing a group.

You seriously don't play online enough if you think that.

Think of an MMO like Eve Online. You have a group of complete strangers, all fully able to betray each other and the group at any time. Yet, they find a way to organize on massive scales and coordinate their activities. There are always outliers, but the big alliances are battling with thousands of foot-soldiers, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

Those kind of organizational/social skills would be invaluable in A Collapse.
