Exactly, you're comparing the organized manipulation of the criminal justice system by the democratic party to increase their funding by not enforcing laws

to children.

On one side you have a multi billion dollar political party pulling the levers of government in a way that ensures police do nothing when the law is broken, because doing so gets them federal funding from a program that was enacted by a president from their own party, and it resulted in seventeen kids dead.

On the other side you have kids. Just kids, being kids. Nothing sinister about a kid being a kid, right?

That's why you continue to frame this entire debacle as just some little screw up like a kid shutting his finger in a door. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Probably a mix of both. Somebody was shitting their pants, and tried to cover up, hoping it would just go away. Not that they were involved with a massive conspiracy to hide juvenile crime, but that they completely failed to stop the shooter.

File it under corruption + rank stupidity = Government.

Was there some effort to hide juvenile crime, sure. Is that directly responsible for this kid killing 17 classmates, possibly. But the lying was probably related to "man we fucked this up, gotta cover our asses", not "protect the mayor and his crime ignoring scheme"

Again, you try to pin the entire thing on a political party, and me. It would have - and probably does still - happen across the country. If there's an incentive to be "crime free", then places will mysteriously become "crime free".

That's not the same thing as pinning 17 murders on an idiot official that wanted to get more money to his district.
