I just didn't get the lack of common sense - if there was an even dilapidated stone wall between your property and the neighbor, don't you think it would be obvious that maybe you should ask the neighbor, especially if you aren't sure where the actual line is, before crossing it and cutting shit down on their side of it? I mean it turns out to not be the real line, to their disadvantage, but you'd think it would denote an obvious delineation that might raise the question...

Dude, I hear you. But a lot of people don't respect fundamental property rights in this country. It's hard enough just to avoid the stink of HOAs in a lot of the suburban areas of this country. Too many people got it in their heads that your lawn is everybody's business.

I wasn't joking earlier when I said Rand Paul would have guaranteed his future as a president if he was carrying and shot the attacker from his lawn mower. It would represent a man standing up for the basic idea that your lawn is your lawn and it's not somebody else's business to fuck with it or even you while you are maintaining it. I don't know how best to articulate this, but I think a fundamental divide in America that we don't really discuss much or even acknowledge can be seen in this context. It seems silly at first, but it has far-reaching consequences about the role of government, communities, and the issue of people fucking with each other in areas where they have no business even being.

Oh don't even get me started on HOAs. An coworker of mine, 20yrs ago now, had a tree come down on his house in a pretty nasty storm, literally a branch came through the roof over their bedroom and they were lucky not to be injured. A "lake community" with an HOA. He had someone over the next day to cut the tree up - but the storm was a Friday night and the HOA bylaws prohibit any power equipment (except lawn mower, weed whacker) or construction on a weekend - he got fined for the noise. Talk about adding insult to injury. He had a tarp on the roof to keep the weather out while dealing with homeowners insurance and getting someone to repair it - HOA rules gave him 3 days to get the "unsightly" tarp off his roof, or get fined. If you raked the leaves in your front yard into a pile in the fall and they were there more than 24 hours it was a fine - doesn't matter if you broke your leg in there somewhere, that's no excuse. Grass couldn't be above a certain height, same thing, a broken leg is no excuse, pay someone to do it then or be fined.

I wouldn't want to put up with that shit for anything.

We talk about this all the time...collectivists vs liberty.....collectivism is winning because it's appealing to the proles....

Liberty is not the normal state of humanity...and IMHO - most people can't handle liberty....

We're going to be in a collectivist society run by a bunch of oligarchs....unless a sizeable chunk of the civilization decides to rebel (which I don't see happening)....it's pretty much a sure thing....

Liberty for the average person was thought up by Western OWGs....that's why the collectivists are doing everything they can to overturn OWG history and power.....Western OWGs are the enemy of Collectivism....
