And we're long overdue for the next "pullback". The only reason we're still on this tepid, stagnant trajectory, is because the Fed has pulled all stops to buy up our debt with our own money. It will break, and soon.
You acknowledge that there are unprecedented factors affecting the markets, but you still expect the markets to obey historical patterns.
I guess that's sort of like thinking rationally. Sort of, but not really.
Regardless of the cause, that pattern has just broken for the first time, thanks to banksters directly manipulating the economy, via government controls. You want to pretend that works out fine, go ahead.

I've had thoughts that the last straw for the Deep State against Trump was to have Yellen crash the economy. But she's headed out soon, Trump is appointing his own guy.Calculus Man wrote:The banksters who are directly manipulating the economy DO NOT want a crash. If you’ve been watching the process, she’s currently second in the odds. The favorite being another never-crash super dove. Taylor had a chance for a bit, but the banksters won’t allow that.
@calculus - they don’t care either way. They’ve bought up hundreds of billions in an asset that they control the interest on, which can’t lose unless the government falls. And they’re cashing out. Watch the bond yields.

Don't misunderstand my prediction, it's not that an economic crash won't happen, it's just that Trump has no serious challenges to authority while the economy is good.GrumpyCatFace wrote:

Any crash will be controlled and used to the benefit of the elites, like 2008 was.
But they are most likely not planned, or even desired, by the capital classes.

I think they thought that they could control it. And it’s worked for a few years now, but it also inflated the biggest bubble in modern history.Calculus Man wrote:Any crash will be controlled and used to the benefit of the elites, like 2008 was.

The fallout from this will be monumental. By that, I mean possibly a new form of currency, or a change in government.

I think this is true. I can remember maybe 3 times crashes were underway and they just suspended trading. One time they shut down the computer system and called it a glitch.Calculus Man wrote:Any crash will be controlled and used to the benefit of the elites, like 2008 was.

We'll never survive this one!

Ya Know, the funny thing is, I'm fine with the Economy Crashing, I almost hope for it.
Let's test our mettle, root out the pussies and whimps.
We could use a little

But we won.
No reason to tear it down in a fit of impotent rage.
We're in control.
Take it apart piece by piece in an orderly fashion and reshape it as we see fit in a manner that reflects our absolute dominance.
Just nod and smile at the juveniles who piss and moan at their lost importance. We'll rip our shirts off next summer, and then place them neatly to the side, before we take a dip in the refreshing cool water.
We did it.
