American workers getting paid to make products for Americans is a redistribution of wealth from The Rich (the importers) to The Middle Class (the Workers who now have jobs.) Whatever increase in price the product has is overwhelmed by the increase in productivity of having people work rather than on Welfare.StCapps wrote:You could have paid less but the embargo prevents you from doing so, duh.The Conservative wrote:You mean like paying for the US product, which will cost the same if not less than the Chinese product... where is the loss there?StCapps wrote:When everything gets more expensive, you'll change your tune, unless you like overpaying for shit.

I hate buying foreign import shit... because 99% of the time it is just that, shit. I'd like to see "Made in America" mean something again.StCapps wrote:You could have paid less but the embargo prevents you from doing so, duh.The Conservative wrote:You mean like paying for the US product, which will cost the same if not less than the Chinese product... where is the loss there?StCapps wrote:When everything gets more expensive, you'll change your tune, unless you like overpaying for shit.
There are very few exceptions to that rule in my case.
Regional swords, guns, my Rotring 600 pencil, and rare metals. Everything else unless it's region specific like cheeses, etc... I'd rather have American Made. Also, you rebuild our infrastructure and have people working again because people would be working (and not just machines), you'd have a stronger America, which is something we need right now.

yes - it would. The PRC is not our friend....they're not even the friend of the average Chinese.....the sooner we become economically independent of them the better.

Not happening. The MIC and your loving Fed have already strapped themselves to the train. We're going straight over that cliff, love it or not.Zlaxer wrote:StCapps wrote:China would embargo you in retaliation. Is saber rattling over North Korea really worth it? I think not.

Seriously? What the hell do you think the Republicans have been trying to tell people why we need an infrastructure?SilverEagle wrote:I've never heard/read it articulated that way but I like it!Martin Hash wrote:American workers getting paid to make products for Americans is a redistribution of wealth from The Rich (the importers) to The Middle Class (the Workers who now have jobs.) Rebuilding roads and bridges is not the same a revived manufacturing industry. One uses government funds to pay workers. The other is private funds going to pay workers. Huge difference. That being said our infrastructure does need fixed. The Conservative wrote:Seriously? The consumer paying more is not good for America, it's good for the workers who get the extra jobs and the companies who employ them, everyone else loses. You've made America less competitive to subsidize jobs the country doesn't need, brilliant plan. The Conservative wrote:Seriously?
