It’s a long, LONG walk from the city to me. And yeah, I don’t think it’s going to turn into Somalia around here. But Venezuela is a pretty solid example.

I originally went with an 870, myself. Shortest legal barrel allowed. But I didn't like it on the stairs. Too unweildy. Felt like any home-invading asshole could snake his arm around the corner of the stairs and pump lead at me while I struggled with a 18" barrel in a tight stairwell. Just didn't work well for what I wanted it to do.

Now, in some sort of post-apocalyptic Mad Max scenario where I have to get into someone elses house, the 870 would be great. Breach barrel, a breaching round for the door, some slugs for vehicle engines, double ott for soft targets on the interior. Great gun for storming the Mormons during the post apocalypse and capturing a well stocked root cellar.
