No country can survive the lack of confidence in its leadership, the fracturing of its cohesion, that this one has.

p.s. Money is imaginary, and inflation is not threatening to America.
Between the anarchists assasinating a president and the disorder of the 60s I think we've seen worse.
The Civil War years were worse but that qualifies as a collapse. It didn't take much to get a good job in the 60s & 70s, so the miscreants couldn't really point at the system as failing, plus, Conservatism & conscientious behavior still ruled, it's on pretty shaky ground now.

The Civil War was the opposite of a Collapse, the rapid expansion of industrialization to fight the war incited explosive growth in the Union resulting in a massive boom, and the expansion of big government to fight the war had a New Deal effect, opening up opportunity and social mobility in America like never before.

Me and a neighbor talk retirement.

Neighbor: I sure hope you are investing in the stock market

Me: Hey, would you like to play poker

Neighbor: I've never played poker before

Me: It's OK, me and my friends will teach you, just bring all your money, including what you plan to retire on.

Neighbor

Neighbor; Chuckles, I think I'll pass

Me: I thought you liked the stock market
That is not a bad analogy.

??? "The Collapse," as I'm predicting it, is NOT the destruction of the U.S., it's all the BS coming to a boil & causing a giant upheaval, hopefully in the right direction, shucking off the riff-raff & communism, so America can again reach for the stars. The Civil War fits that description.

Nah, it's just one of those events were wealth is rapidly redistributed from one investors/speculators to others. And Balance Sheets become smaller.

Smitty is true in that classical war is an economic boom, because you start massively producing stuff with taking more debt... that you likely pay away with inflation.

But the Civil War didn't actually shuck anything off, if the Slave Economy was the Communists, which I suppose could be asserted with some accuracy, as it was antithetical to the free market, it wasn't actually defeated decisively even after being defeated on the battlefield, Reconstruction failed and the Communists were able to have their cake and eat it too, for another hundred years after at least.

The MHF. Where buying and selling human beings shipped across the world for chattel slavery, to produce cheap agricultural goods is not a part of Capitalism.

Well, the Slave Economy wasn't actually capitalist, because it was a closed off centrally planned monopolisitic and articifically protected market run by an aristocracy, which, that's pretty much the Bolsheviks in a nutshell too, perhaps you simply have a delusional view of how Communism actually worked, the Soviet Union was a closed off slave economy run by an aristocracy in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in neither case, Dixie nor Moscuvy, was the free market ever in effect.

Assuming this how Carlus has always thought, he has (1) missed the greatest expansion of wealth in human history, and (2) if he is retired or planning to retire, is on a guaranteed benefit plan, which is actually just investing on his behalf.

Besides Hash and other entrepreneur multi-millionaires, no investment = no retirement, unless you have a pension plan (which is investing on your behalf)

Sometimes it seems like foreigners around here possess an emotional interest in America not becoming great again..
