Literally everything the US already does...
1. RT - Voice of America

2. Hack foreign agents personal communications
"I have to admit my definition of what the Russians did [at the DNC] is, unfortunately, honourable state espionage," Hayden explained, adding: "A foreign intelligence service getting the internal emails of a major political party in a major foreign adversary? Game on. That's what we do."

3. Hire internet trolls to defame opponents

4. Assist candidates in foreign elections friendly to the US
Voice thought to be Pyatt's: I think we're in play. The Klitschko [Vitaly Klitschko, one of three main opposition leaders] piece is obviously the complicated electron here. Especially the announcement of him as deputy prime minister and you've seen some of my notes on the troubles in the marriage right now so we're trying to get a read really fast on where he is on this stuff. But I think your argument to him, which you'll need to make, I think that's the next phone call you want to set up, is exactly the one you made to Yats [Arseniy Yatseniuk, another opposition leader]. And I'm glad you sort of put him on the spot on where he fits in this scenario. And I'm very glad that he said what he said in response.
US says that it is working with all sides in the crisis to reach a peaceful solution, noting that "ultimately it is up to the Ukrainian people to decide their future". However this transcript suggests that the US has very clear ideas about what the outcome should be and is striving to achieve these goals.

But do you do it to China?
Or just how much actually have you done it to Russia? Putin has accused you of it, of course.
You see it's one thing to do it to a small poor Thirld World Country, as the usual target is. It's totally different when you do it to a nation that is called "The Only Superpower".
And let's be honest here, after the fall of the Soviet Union, America simply sucks in these operations. Perhaps the only actual bright spot is the ouster of Milosevic, but then again, that didn't make Serbia at all friendly to you in the long run (as now they are Putin's allies).

Do we hack Chinese govt when possible? We'd be derelict if we didn't. Do we assist friends of the US in China? Again, we'd be derelict if we didn't.ssu wrote:Yep.kybkh wrote:Literally everything the US already does...

This is all bullshit. You know it. You have shifted the goalpost completely now from "its WW3" to countries with nukes don't do this to one another when actually we do.
This is the soon to be ousted CIA officials telling everyone everything they should already be aware of as far as international cyber-espionage and political intrigue.

Put it that way, you are derelict.kybkh wrote:Do we hack Chinese govt when possible? We'd be derelict if we didn't.
Furthermore, I don't think the US has ever had the a) capability and b) the balls to start influencing just who is appointed to power in Communist China (now Taiwan or nationalist China might have been different). Or to try to influence just who gets the power in the Kremlin.
Nope, what you can only do is to give money and aid to some vibrant and opposition movement against that might even itself take power. The days of Kermit Roosevelt & friends being successfull in some Operation Ajax is long gone.
Putin has the witts and the balls to do it.

ssu, you have crossed over into Denial Land. Of course, the U.S. hacks everyone. We embedded backdoors into printers & modems for chrissakes. The most sophisticated, 1-bit-at-a-time-in-the-checksum hacking is going on RIGHT NOW! Russia & China don't hold a fucking candle: a room full of people in front of laptops, please, give me a break.

But Serbia was always allied with Russia- politically and culturally. And that goes back to the Medieval times to WWI when Russia was ready to fight for Serbia (sure Russia was probably doing if themselves but still....).ssu wrote:Yep.kybkh wrote:Literally everything the US already does...

I am fully aware that you can hack the systems of even something closely protected as an nuclear program, and can hack everyone. But that whole apparatus is now basically looking for some muslim terrorist, who obviously will make secret communications via electric gadgets. But the thing here isn't just hacking, it's about using those hacks for influence. And here the US has a "fatal flaw" as a Place like Washington leaks all the time, and is put upside down every four to eight years, usually. The programs will sooner or later become public knowledge.
What's so difficult to understand in a multifaceted influence campaing? The hacks were only a part of it, and to deny that they were Russian is confusing. And lastly, the whole thing doesn't undermine Trumps Presidency, so why then the denial?

How close was Ukraine?Penner wrote:But Serbia was always allied with Russia- politically and culturally. And that goes back to the Medieval times to WWI when Russia was ready to fight for Serbia (sure Russia was probably doing if themselves but still....).
Let's not forget that actually even in West Ukraine they were OK with the Russians before this war.

Basically, I trust Julian Assange more that I trust the DNC or RNC & their allies. Julian says it wasn't Russia, it wasn't Russia.

I think Julian has a very big motivation to denounce that it was the Russians, because then it would be easy to discredit him as a Russian stooge. In the end his credibility is on the line.Martin Hash wrote:Basically, I trust Julian Assange more that I trust the DNC or RNC & their allies. Julian says it wasn't Russia, it wasn't Russia.
It's actually a bit sad I think.
