Re: Public School Education System Thread
The level of work that my boys bring home from school here is pretty sad. Half the classes don't use textbooks and instead just handouts every day. It looks like first grade level stuff, for high schoolers. The math teacher was sending home these simplistic handouts for homework. When I said I wanted to see the textbook, I found out they don't have them. We had to do some battling over that. Got them to provide a text.

Can't we ever discuss an issue without it going straight to Federalism vs. States Rights? We fought a war over this a long time ago.
How about instead of ranting against the nature of our nation, we just look at some policies/institutions that actually caused the problem at hand?

Trying to run every school from DC is what caused the problem at hand.

Wasn't it you callng folks "republitards", "ignorant hicks", "hillbilly spawn", "viruses", "blood cult", etcetera?
Pretty sure you were the one ranting like the lunatic here.
Let me just double check...

I think you're too scared of freedom to give it a shot in this case. Same with Monty on speech. You seem convinced that we all need DC to run our schools, lest we start having exorcisms replace geography.
Not even Kath is afraid of that happening.

Honestly, I just want someone to prove that the DoE is the problem. So far, we've just retrenched all the usual hand-waving Conservative talking points.Okeefenokee wrote:I think you're too scared of freedom to give it a shot in this case. Same with Monty on speech. You start ranting, then you get stomped, then you cry about people ranting, so not unstable, so much as weak shit.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Yes.... clearly I'm the unstable force around here.Smitty-48 wrote:...yep, that was you.

Just took me an extra moment to post examples of your usual insane rantings. I'm still awaiting my position on the lamppost, if you please.Smitty-48 wrote:You start ranting, then you get stomped, then you cry about people ranting, so not unstable, so much as weak shit.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Yes.... clearly I'm the unstable force around here.Smitty-48 wrote:...yep, that was you.
