For nuclear survival plan, you need to get right out of the Northeast altogether, the Northeast will be totally obliterated, the strike patterns will be overlapping each other, there's no place to escape there, for nuclear survival, step one; move to Oregon.

Oregon is closer to Russia than the East Coast of the USA is.
You imagine the Russians will just Nuke the East Coast and call it good?

No, the Russian deterent would shower the CONUS, just on spec, but Oregon is in the sweet spot, there's no strategic targets there, but it's really all about the prevailing winds, all the fallout goes eastwards, so Oregon is not going to get hit with anything big, and even though Washington to the north, and California south of the Bay of Area will be hammered mercilessly, northern California and Oregon will be in the sweet spot in between, with practically no fallout at all.DBTrek wrote:Oregon is closer to Russia than the East Coast of the USA is.

Most of the CONUS could be wiped out, and Dan Carlin could still be doing his podcast from Eugene as if nothing happened. In a nuclear strike scenario, Eugene Oregon is the safest place in America, even if they took out Portland, Eugene is still in the sweet spot.

No doubt he'd be congratulating Ivan for ridding the world of Trump, and his dangerously divisive rhetoric.Smitty-48 wrote:Most of the CONUS could be wiped out, and Dan Carlin could still be doing his podcast from Eugene as if nothing happened.
Maybe he'd even do a bonus episode to remind the Republic of Oregon of the black deeds of their war criminal WW2 pilots.

Again, you are misrepresenting what I said, which is nothing new when you are loosing an argument. The government of PR should have had something in place to prepare for this. The people should have had something in place to protect themselves. The government = big picture, the people = themselves.Kath wrote:Are you going to answer my question? Do you feel this way about all the other major hurricanes? I was in Irma and lost power and cell service and we had downed trees all over the area - we couldn't leave our neighborhood for the first two days.
Is that my fault?
Do I need to use smaller words for you to understand this?

Thanks for harshing my buzz, Smits.Smitty-48 wrote:Oh and by the way, if you don't think Boston is high on the hit list, don't kid yourself, the Russians will have at least two full missile throw weights targeting the entire region, at least one SLBM and an ICBM just to make sure, the greater Boston area would eat something like 16-24 800 Kt MIRVs.

What preventive measures would have prevented all the vegetation from making the roads impassible. What preventive measures would have prevented the power or cell towers from going out?The Conservative wrote:
