I've been to Seattle twice. The latest time was in 2013 for cousin's wedding. What struck me both times was how many homeless people there were. There is a park near Pike's and they were stacked on top of eachother. They all had these semi funny cardboard signs. A bunch near the space needle too. I can't imagine how bad its gotten now that these new initiatives are in place. The thing is, I think Seattle is one of the most beautiful major cities I have been to. It really sucks that the longtime residents have to deal with this. It sounds like this policy has already affected housing prices. I wonder if it will have an effect on tourism too. From my experience, the homeless panhandler's were the main drawback. Portland also had this problem when I visited.

Well, I'll give this to Seattle - with our terrible gridlock the uninsured drivers can only do minor cosmetic damage to your vehicle. They'll never reach the speeds required to total a car or injure a human. So . . . we have that going for us.

Maybe Seattle is getting what they wanted - I'm sure those drug addict homeless are saving up lots of money for their down payment on a house, what with those free needles and other programs saving them money. Any day now they'll be buying a 2 BR condo for cheap off some fleeing liberal looking for a new job to replace the one their policies drove out of the city.

Had a Navy guy in one of my classes complimenting the "syrup." Said that's how they like it in the Navy. Holds a pot of hot coffee, don't need to spend $5 a cup. I'll give you a cup for free. Had the Navy guy giggling and most of the hipsters going, "damn, I had too much coffee."
