About as meaningless as poll results can get. Question is more along the lines of, "who likes and/or doesn't hate Kath." Silliness.Fife wrote:It's a bullshit question for a bullshit poll. The "votes," such as they are, are meaningless.

The fact that so many people think she should be fired, that's an indictment of her moderation, not an endorsement.Montegriffo wrote:Almost two to one in favour of Kath staying moderator, that's pretty conclusive compared to Brexit or Trump's election victory.StCapps wrote:It did. The only way I wouldn't have won, is if you won in crushing landslide. The poll wasn't "Is Kath a good moderator?", the poll was "Has Kath done such a shitty job that she shouldn't be moderator?", any significant chunk of votes against you is a vicious indictment of your moderation of this forum.Kath wrote:That totally went your way last time.

No it isn't. The poll is about whether you fucked up so badly that you shouldn't be moderator anymore, it's not an approval rating idiot.Kath wrote:About as meaningless as poll results can get. Martin is completely free to fire me. He knows how. Maybe check with him. I'm not going to fire myself. I tried once; it didn't work out for me.StCapps wrote: The fact that so many people think she should be fired, that's an indictment of her moderation, not an endorsement.

Yeah, yeah, you won the popular voteStCapps wrote:The fact that so many people think she should be fired, that's an indictment of her moderation, not an endorsement.Montegriffo wrote:Almost two to one in favour of Kath staying moderator, that's pretty conclusive compared to Brexit or Trump's election victory.StCapps wrote:It did. For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

The real question is, "Should the forum have a moderator at all?" (for anything other than ministerial deletion of spambots or content-neutral chores assigned by the owner of the property).
The "who" that is assigned any arbitrary "moderation"/"censorship" powers is irrelevant.
Even though it is tedious (just like Capps putting up an unfunny attack thread directed personally at Kath is), I can put up with you talking about the size of your stick, Kath, so long as you don't use it.
You're not special in that regard, Kath, and I'm not picking on you; it just so happens that you were the one saddled with the office (or maybe you asked for it, I don't know and it doesn't matter). It would take someone rather stout to resist the temptation to pontificate about the powers of the office of "moderator."
IMNSHO.

All you have to do is not moderate anymore, you don't even have to officially step down to fire yourself. If you don't want to be moderator, Hash can't force you to do your job, you are doing that on your own and badly I might add.Kath wrote:Martin is completely free to fire me. He knows how. I'm getting pretty tired of talking about this incredibly boring, snooze-fest of a topic. You, yourself stated that everyone who voted yes completely misunderstood the question, so you need to consider that people didn't vote the way you think they voted.StCapps wrote: No it isn't. Perhaps all the yes votes are more against your bullshit than in favor of mine. Who knows why people vote in meaningless polls? Did you see DBs poll? A few people voted gbrrsgr.... or whatever the option was. Please whisper us what THEY meant.
LOL.
Again, bored with this topic. Take it up with Martin. Your opinion of me is none of my business.

I don't think many even knew I was a mod until Capps created the poll. And, meh - I didn't do anything Martin didn't okay. I wouldn't do that; it's his place.Fife wrote: I can put up with you talking about the size of your stick, Kath, so long as you don't use it.
