Great Christmas this year with the kids and our friend family...
Our friends put it on.
Ping Pong tournament and Charades... the teens got right into it as did the young adult offspring who returned to the nest from their side.
Christmas was hard on my wife this year.... she went back to Ontario to see her family when her Dad was really sick in the fall.
He was a sweet heart to her when he was dieing and she felt they were reconciling.... but as he got healthy again, he turned back into an asshole.
So she decided to cancel her return tickets for Christmas.
Which was taking a stand for her. Not something she's ever done before.
She's growing a back bone... but there are associated growing pains.
Merry Christmas

Seems to me the highlight would be helping kids turn their lives around on Christmas. You were the one poster who actually did what Christmas was about. The rest of us focused on self-gratification.

The work can be draining and it takes a certain disposition...
And it can also feel like swimming upstream when you aren't playing the game along the lines of the dominant "medical model"...
But I have found my footing and really enjoy my job most days...
So ya... that was a pretty cool part of Xmas.
It helps that I wasn't swamped.
