May god protect you from ever having it determined by the state that you are a "low priority" to the country you live in because of something your parents did, so your fate can be used as a "bargaining chip" in enforcing laws on someone else.

Unless you were born in Mexico, then you are a Mexican citizen regardless of the fact that you have spent almost none of your life there.

If they were brought he at an age, like 5 or 6, and never even step foot in "their" old country ever again, then yeah, it is a punishment.
