In normal times, yes. But we all know that at some point a crisis will arise. And there may come a 50/50 ‘coin flip’ decision to end the world. In that event, we can not afford an unstable person in command.

It's a hyperbole, the extreme end of the slippery slope. Just like all disagreements on the internet usually ends with someone being compared to Hitler, an argument about a presidential candidate's worthiness usually ends with someone stating that the person can't be trusted with the nuclear codes.
