I think the wall is better as an Idea as a symbol or monument to actually commit to border and immigration security moreso than its actual real life effect. The wall is a huge commitment to expend that much political capital and real capital to only have to turn it over to democrats who will undermine it if not outright destroy it will be a real political killer. They have to be broken like Edgar Allen Poe's Tell-Tale Heart make them build the wall to cover their crime and a vain attempt to preserve their sanity.

It is really not that big an expense in a relative sense. Democrats had no problem literally dumping 150 billion on Iran. Syria is about as much. Libya. Iraq. Afghanistan.

These deep state, neoliberal cunts drop more cash on lots of stupid shit all the time. They oppose the wall because (1) they are committed to open borders and (2) they know a wall can be extremely effective in reducing illegal immigration.

I'd make a deal plainly: public option (expanded Medicare) for a wall. If the non-establishment types taking over the democratic party are more committed to social welfare than to white genocide, then they should make that deal.

Make an offer that divides the democrats and helps isolate the deep state folks infecting the party.
