I think we're closer to the edge than most people realize....I get the sense that the right is really really pissed off this time....You hear it in under the breadth remarks in bars/restaurants/other public places when people hear headlines....

I think it's happening across the west to varying degrees. I think England might be closer than us right now.
Shit is about to get fucked up. I think the only thing holding it back is Trump being in office. If this were Hillary, we'd probably be where England is now.
When you think about it, Trump diffuses it to a great degree. We all know he is in office and not that spirit-cooking criminal. As bad as it gets, we still have some sense of order and rightness to keep us sane. Imagine this shit happening with a Clinton presidency.

No, I'm pretty sure less than 10% of Americans use twitter, which is where a whole lot of the outrage occurs. Most Americans care very little about participating in the culture war.
I most definitely disagree that under the breath of every bar and restaurant patron is some whispered extreme position. I think you're way off the mark.
