A
Truth is that without the disease nobody would know who Stephen Hawking was as Hawking-radiation isn't something equivalent to theory of relativity or even string theory. The media wouldn't have fallen in love with the professor like it did now. And Hawking enjoyed the limelight every second of his long life.
Typical. Person that became famous of being on the verge of dying decades ago then dies at 76.DBTrek wrote:Making it to 76 with ALS is no small feat. Well done. Hope you get a better deal in the next life, Stephen.

Btw, isn't the Science Guy an engineer?Fife wrote: BILL NYE FOREVER!!!
Anyway, I tried to watch his (Nye's) show but it was extremely irritating as the guy hopped from one thing to another and basically talked about some thing basically for some seconds. Likely he doesn't much faith in his audience to have the ability or the knowledge to follow science or scientific experiments. It's a typical for many science populizers: the simply leave the science part away as they think the audience is totally unable to understand it.
At least he designed parts for the Boeing 747. Now that's a classic airplane.
