Also I read that these same Swiss eat cats and dogs, and this story is old, she got her citizenship later.

It’s just basic human decency, which may be why the concept is alien to a leftist from Oregon. When visiting the home of another, it is considered rude to criticize the acommodations of the host. When visiting the country of another, it is rude to criticize the social norms of the host.JohnDonne wrote:That’s a fallacy used against feminists a lot as well. Don’t talk about changing regulations for cows or anything cause clits are being cut somewhere.
@bjorn: If she has no right to talk about cow bells to the Swiss because of cultural relativity then she has no right to talk to Muslims about clit cutting for the same reason.

Basic human decency. But for some reason leftists just don’t have the decency gene. Which is likely why they’re only admired by other leftist, and they have to force their views on unwilling citizens worldwide.

Getting Swiss citizenship is a huge ordeal.
I've got a friend who's aunt finally got the citizenship after living decades in Switzerland. She told that
especially the exam on "being Swiss" was in hindsight quite humorous.

From an official Swiss site:
Foreigners with no direct blood ties to Switzerland through either birth or marriage must live in the country for at least ten years before they can apply for citizenship. Years spent in the country between ages ten and 20 count double.
Knowledge of a national language to a minimum spoken level of B1 and written level of A2 will be required. Applicants for naturalisation need a “C” residence permit to apply for a Swiss passport. People on welfare and anyone with a criminal offence are in theory excluded.
The State Secretariat for Migration examines whether applicants are integrated in the Swiss way of life, are familiar with Swiss customs and traditions, comply with the Swiss rule of law, and do not endanger Switzerland's internal or external security.
The State Secretariat for Migration will then “green light” an applicant’s request to begin the naturalisation process but that does not mean citizenship is certain. Rather, cantons and municipalities have their own requirements that must be met.

@Db: so your new excuse for her to be quiet is decency now? Lol, you sure moved that goalpost quick. But politeness is a noble cause for sure, trying to improve the lives of others is nobler still though, clearly she took her licks and accepted the price of not always being liked, I won’t bother wondering if you would do the same when you’re in similar circumstances.

I love it when people buy a house very close to a busy airport, and then start complaining about the noise coming from the airport. Pro tip - don't move to a place where the noises annoy you.

Entitled lady feels that the world needs to adhere to her beliefs, even when she’s the one imposing her presence upon others.
Pointing out the narcissism, sociopathy, and misanthropy of such childish individuals requires no excuse on my part. It is, in fact, an obvious assessment to everyone except fellow deluded narcissists who believe and think like this lady.

I think she complained mainly on behalf of the cow’s ears, not her own. The cow can’t move away.Kath wrote:I love it when people buy a house very close to a busy airport, and then start complaining about the noise coming from the airport. Pro tip - don't move to a place where the noises annoy you.

Cultural relativism folks, don’t tell Muslims it’s wrong to throw gays off rooftops when you visit, make sure to encourage their cultural diversity for the sake of good manners.DBTrek wrote:There is no”excuse”.JohnDonne wrote:@Db: so your new excuse for her to be quiet is decency now? Ps I am aware there is a practical reason to be quiet about such things when visiting Muslim countries, namely not getting strung up, but the point still stands.
