It's not enough to get excited about yet. But lets keep an eye on it. Looks like we are in the same territory we were in 2013
Good point. When you look at the actual breakdown a lot of it looks like it's getting better. I don't have time to take screenshots right now but look at this:

If you take away Los Angeles the picture is lot more rosy. I wonder how much of this is an imported problem. Sanctuary State ftw. :handgestures-thumbup:
Interesting. California, NY and Florida are the bulk of the homeless.
I'm cynical so I wonder if the laws in those states dole out money to homeless.

Florida gives zero anything to homeless people. They live off charity. Florida is a good destination for them because, if you are going to sleep outside, you might as well do it on the beach.

But it's also true that the vast majority of homeless people have jobs and you wouldn't notice that they are homeless just passing them on the street. The street people you actually notice predominantly have mental illnesses and drug addiction problems.

I would rather provide the visible street people with an institution that can treat the mental illnesses and drug addictions, and get them rehabilitated and vocationally trained. If you have to, let them operate out from that institution as a home and look for work. I don't care that much about the money. We spend God knows how much money on single mothers and thots. I would rather spend it on people who really need help.

Stop letting people into the country as well. Start putting employers in prison for hiring illegals. Deport all the illegals. Cancel the visas. Close the borders for at least a generation if not three. Let the citizens we minted in the past three decades actually integrate and assimilate into American culture before we ever even dream of opening up our borders to anything but immigration from exceptional people.

Most importantly: tie immigration quotas in the future to the job rate. If the unemployment rate rises above a certain threshold, then NO VISAS OR IMMIGRATION. Nada.

LA is one of those places that you just end up in when you are completely out on the street and not looking to do anything but booze and drugs. I think it's an important distinction to make in that they are importing this country's own homeless and much less other countries as you would think. Foreigners usually get pretty sweet deals on government aid and such and they tend to want to work tbqh. I think the demographics of just what kind of people are on skid row would go a long way in the understanding of the true nature of our homeless problem.

There's a homeless guy around here who has something like ten duffle bags of stuff, and he moves them around like the bags are doing an indian run.

Walks the last one to the front, then walks then last one to the front, then walks the last one to the front.

He stays busy moving that wagon train of bags around town. I was gonna stop and ask if he'd like some help getting them where he's going, but I've seen him moving them along the same path multiple times now, so I don't think there's an end destination.

Sadly, most people just aren't prepared to live out of one bag. Heavy bags are heavy.

The homeless camp bordering my special McDonald's has some new wheelchairs just since the first of the year. More bums in the pews inside too, nursing Senior coffees for hours.

I would argue that no one is truly homeless. Home is where your heart is, and if your heart is in a mansion, or behind a dumpster at Arby's, that is your home. Additionally, everyone's body is a temple of the holy spirit. How could you be homeless if your very body is a building?
