Mad TV was pretty funny.

The problem in America is that most of the alleged comedy shows are just propaganda now, and have been for a while. That's not strictly comedy in my opinion, when your purpose is to reinforce a political hegemony and foment social contempt for dissenters.

Comedians of the political correctness persuasion often use the "speak truth to power" and the "don't punch down" meme, but that's pretty much all they do to help maintain the current ruling ideology. These days, it's gotten so bad it's not even a joke any more. They simply insult people for thirty minutes with some commercials.

That's how you know when some ruling ideology has run it's course. They can't even do comedy any more.

I watched The Daily Show with John Stuart for a few years but I did start to get a vague sense of something not being right. I remember getting high on weed and watching it with an elevated sense of paranoia one time. It was just complete horror at the state of big brother.

Maybe in all-female America Conan has enough balls to keep the Tonight Show.

50,000 people a year are born with FAS, but women never do anything wrong.

Anyway, there has been one legitimately great SNL skit of which I am aware. The Barber of York.

Here 'tis.

Are we looking for good SNL skits for the last 20 years? Cause Tina Fey/Sarah Palin was goddamn hilarious.

Does SNL even do non-political skits anymore? I haven't heard of one in years. I stopped watching in the late 90s. What I've seen since hasn't been funny. Their Trump, Palin, etc. ones just come off as snarky and venomous, not entertaining.

The only good one I can think of wasn't even that funny. What made it watchable was Katie Perry in a way too tight Grover t-shirt. Brought to you by the letter DD.

As for the reboot, NBS is working on their Biden for 2020 campaign. He was on SNF last night and is on Today show this morning. The skit is proving to be more accurate than spoof.

I found this recent sketch pretty funny. They're getting it.
