Yes.

The material wealth of the last few decades has not brought us more happiness, and it has poisoned our soul.
+1. Sad, sad, but true.

Close the wars, all of them. Close the borders, all of them. Close the government schools, all of them.

Well, make the case that we need to keep Muslims from migrating here and I will welcome you to the RACISM!! club while you enjoy the many examples of people who definitely are not against this.
I wonder what the world would be like if the US just cur off all ties to the Middle East.

As in completely, No People or Goods can move to or from the US from Israel to Iran or anywhere in between.

Certainly there would instantly be a hot war between Israeli, Shia and Shiite.

Hard not to see the entire Arabian Peninsula not get curb stopped by Iran.

That's sort of on the horizon already. Electric vehicles and natural gas are going to limit most of our oil consumption (for energy) to jet fuel. We need to find some chemical substitutes to petroleum that are just as economical if not better too, and that may or may not happen, but if it does, there's no point in getting involved over there other than to deal with all the terrorism.

But that brings us back to the point that we can't just let that shit hole fester or they will keep spawning caliphates and other terrorist empires.

If we bail, it will take them more than a decade to figure it out.

There will be a temporary uptick as our ex-allies send us out the door with a go fuck yourself.

And of course there is the Israel body count.

But the jihadis will have waaaay too much on their hands over there to bother with us after the first year or so, and that condition will, as I said, take decades to resolve itself.

It's not *if* we bail, it's *when* we bail, though, right?

Shit that can't last, won't last.

The lack of patriotism in this thread is quite staggering. I guess some people don't want to keep America safe.

I'm already watching my liquidity go up in flames around me.

Am I supposed to go long on YETI coolers now?

I'm looking at a different path.

If you are worried about "liquid"-ity, start buying milk. It has a decent shelf life, and will be an effective commodity to trade once society reverts back to a barter system. The man with the milk is the man with the real power.

Why not just buy some goats?

Yeti coolers seem a bit overpriced when I can get basically the same thing for twenty to forty dollars at Wallyworld.
