Re: The Real Problem With America...Fancy Moms
I have great respect for a traditional woman who stays at home, educates the kids, keeps the household running, and the family affairs running smoothly. The women who do that right (actually know what they are doing and do everything that it entails instead of just sit around while the family and household sort of drifts into dysfunction) deserve a lot of respect.
But to pretend like that's harder than the work men do is silly. Go tile roofs in the summer heat, princess.
The women who claim to do these things and consider themselves feminists or whatever, are usually total trainwrecks, and in my experience, they tend to cheat on the husband a lot and eventually blow up the marriage after they get bored spending hubbies money and realize they can just take it for free through child support and alimony.
Our society really is that broken right now. The men are just as bad, so don't fucking act like I don't pick on them too.

Don't you have an engineering degree? Or any desire to use it?Speaker to Animals wrote:This is hilarious.

You think building an upgrade to a wireless network's base radio and site controller, that will bring in hundreds of millions of dollars, but contractually can have downtime no greater than two seconds per year is easier than coloring with the kids and cleaning up the house???

My wife has been active duty since the day I met her. After I left the Army, I spent six months staying at home with my newborn daughter, before putting her in daycare when I started school. It was an absolute vacation.MilSpecs wrote:So you would have no problem quitting your job and staying home to raise the kids while your wife went to work?Okeefenokee wrote:
The reason I wouldn't do it forever is that isn't my calling. It's not hard, just not what I want. My wife does want to do it. When I graduate and start working full time, she's going back to being a stay at home mom. She receives far more joy from that than being a soldier. And she doesn't bitch and moan about the other women making her feel inadequate. She's not a loser.

I'd rather live a life of leisure. Degrees are only means to an endMilSpecs wrote:Don't you have an engineering degree? Or any desire to use it?Speaker to Animals wrote:This is hilarious.

Does stay-at-home Mom have the equivalent of a VP of a major wireless network calling her on a Sunday afternoon to immediately log in through the work computer she is required to have at all times, to figure out what is going on in his network -- or at any hour on any day, with millions at stake?
You have to be fucking kidding me. I dealt with this shit my whole marriage while that woman was out shopping and playing all day only for me to come home where she complained about how hard her days really are that's why I should just order everybody a pizza.
You liberal chicks don't impress me one bit. I know way too much. I see right through this bs. Don't try to snow the snowman.

I have great respect for anyone who works hard. And that last is a ridiculous comment. I know plenty of hard working men and women who give each other props for doing what the other can't do. I swim distance, my husband swims with sharks, and both skills are necessary to the family regardless of who does them.Speaker to Animals wrote:I have great respect for a traditional woman who stays at home, educates the kids, keeps the household running, and the family affairs running smoothly. One of the first things my wife told me about her mother was that she taught her that stitching the holes in her husband's socks wasn't as necessary in the modern age as it had been in the past, but you do it anyway because it shows you care. I'm not gonna post a picture. You can imagine what it looks like.Speaker to Animals wrote:Does stay-at-home Mom have the equivalent of a VP of a major wireless network calling her on a Sunday afternoon to immediately log in through the work computer she is required to have at all times, to figure out what is going on in his network -- or at any hour on any day, with millions at stake?

When I was married to my first wife, my dad came to stay with us while we were stationed in Georgia. I went to work at eleven at night and got home at nine in the morning every day for ten months. Dad held his tongue for a while, but eventually he asked what I thought about the fact that my wife stayed home everyday, yet I never had a warm meal when I got home unless I made it myself.

You completely missed the point. Would you give it up to stay home?Speaker to Animals wrote:MilSpecs wrote:Don't you have an engineering degree? Or any desire to use it?Speaker to Animals wrote:This is hilarious.

I didn't claim they weren't necessary. What I claimed was it's ridiculous to claim that a stay-at-home wife's job is somehow harder than a lot of what men do. I would admit it's possible that some men don't have very difficult jobs. But those men most women don't want because they probably don't make enough money. There's obviously crossover too. A minority of women are pretty good at hard work, but they are an extreme minority. Statistics don't lie. Women avoid hard work like the plague.
