That's not "affirmative action", it's good film-making. You should match the actor's general look for stunt shots.Okeefenokee wrote:Learn to read, ffs.GrumpyCatFace wrote:They couldn't find a black stuntwoman, so they pressed someone into service that didn't know what she was doing? But the problem is hiring practices, not that there aren't any fucking black stuntwomen?
They had a black stunt woman who wasn't up to the stunt, and rather than get someone else who could do it, but wasn't a black woman, they went with the woman who wasn't qualified because,
The producers put pressure to have somebody of the same sex and ethnicity in a position she wasn’t qualified to be in

No reason to match looks anymore. Body shape perhaps but you can fix the face and skin in post. Safety should come first. No movie is worth dying for.GrumpyCatFace wrote:That's not "affirmative action", it's good film-making. Well, from what little I've seen of movie-making, the stunts aren't supposed to be very dangerous anyway.. If this was a technically difficult one, they shouldn't have had an amateur of any kind doing it - I agree.Hastur wrote:No reason to match looks anymore. The stunt girl was not up to the stunt, but others were.
They went with the one who couldn't do it, because the ones who could do it were the wrong skin color.
The same choice came up in a previous movie, and the crew went with the one that could do the stunt, but had to be painted black to match the actor. That was deemed racist, so this black girl got to die in the name of PC.
Good job, lefties. Your retardation continues to claim lives.

Cameron just went back and fixed the face of the stunt double in Terminator 2. No biggie.

Re: Deadly Diversity
Matching actors to the gender and race of a character, and the stunt doubles to the gender and race of the actors, does not constitute "affirmative action" to rational adults.
They fucked up because they assigned an inexperienced person to perform a stunt that person was not qualified to perform. Being a stunt double is not like working on an oil rig. Women can be just as capable as men, and obviously race doesn't play a factor in it either. They put an unqualified person in a stunt and it went wrong.

Someone is saying the producers wanted her for the stunt over objections from others that she wasn't up to it.Speaker to Animals wrote:Matching actors to the gender and race of a character, and the stunt doubles to the gender and race of the actors, does not constitute "affirmative action" to rational adults.
