Seriously tho, I can't even comprehend how long this has gone on. We just keep letting evangelicals walk all over us.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I don't think so. They could easily have just written a new law that we have to play on American-hosted sites.Montegriffo wrote:God or the taxman? Exactly. That's why it makes no sense. At all.Montegriffo wrote:I guess. Also think of the massive Pokerstars profits they could be taxing. Not like the church pays any.....
We have legal online poker in 3 states now, which makes it even more obvious that this is just religious bullshit.

Thing that blows my mind is that you can't even play a home game in your own house.

Well, you'd have a hard time finding a neighborhood in America without a weekly game. We don't take typically take a rake, just a 'donation' for the homeowner when you get there. We have a lot of ridiculous law that gets ignored here.Montegriffo wrote:Thing that blows my mind is that you can't even play a home game in your own house.

Yeah I figured as much.
I'm actually quite envious of your tradition of regular games. Don't have the same tradition here. Only time I ever get a live game is at juggling conventions.

It's not always easy to find them, but yeah, it can be a wonderful thing to have the guys over once a week and throw some chips around.Montegriffo wrote:Yeah I figured as much.

If I ever make it over I expect you to lay on a game for me, I'll bring the port and some snacks.
