Gay dudes are probably excited to see this trend.
Small sample size, but out of the Southern CA Masters Swimming community us older men are all looking good while the women aren't doing as well.

Same as with the other parents at my kids' school. Men are looking good, women's stock are falling quickly

This is all actually a true read of the situation, albeit sarcastic. There are ONLY TWO PARTIES. Because there is hardly any turnout, as compared to the population in general, these local meetings are being dominated by the fringe elements, which is why Dems seem so crazy. I discussed it with my wife this morning, comparing the "normal" competent men I know to the pansies who attend those meetings, and it's clear what the problem is: the dorks are exploiting the system.

Local Party politics need to be online so more of a cross-section of people participate. Places like this forum is where politics should happen, not in the back room of a pizza parlor where Robert's Rules dominate, and the most shrill voice gets the attention.

Worked for Stringer and the Barksdale crew, at least until Poot speaks up.

You can't be the only Democrat in Oregon who is a non-Progressive, non-SJW, Classical Liberal (or "Liberalist" as you say) more in tune with your ideal of the "Liberty Nation". Is there any possibility of you being able to gather Democratic members, start a group within the Democratic party, and use that as both a platform for change (however long that might take) within your party, but also as a stepping stone for better political coverage for yourself personally?

Or would the fringe groups/fractions within the Democratic party prevent you and other "Liberalists" in the party from forming a counter-movement? And if they would, would you personally have enough political allies and could you rally enough sympathizers in your area to fight them (with arguments and shows of support, not physically..)? And would you be willing to? You've run for office before, but to what extent have you had to endure politically motivated character assassination? If you tried to prevent those SJW-y, progressive types from taking over the party (more), I expect they will attack you hard.

Shrill only helps convince some. Whenever I hear people trying to blow up some small thing using extreme or hysterical language, I simply get annoyed.

I think repetition is really all that matters. If someone here posted that you got busted for drunk driving and running over a baby carriage enough times, maybe sprinkle in a news story where the culprit wasn't named and hint that that was you as "proof", then some people would eventually accept it as truth. The second a second and third poster starts repeating the lie about you, it becomes accepted as fact among a majority.

Demonstrations may be seen as cliche, or lame, or whatever, by some people here, but they have the opportunity to show that you have widespread support. For Martin, let's call it a "Liberty Day". But instead of chanting simplistic slogans and shouting while marching, and then going home, set up tents in a popular park or plaza somewhere. Hold speeches, maybe debate panels... let people feel that you're about more than just mindless, simplistic slogans. Those demonstrations that are covered on TV from the US seem like nothing more than an opportunity for protestors to shout to onlookers that they should believe in whatever the demonstrators believe in.

Holding a political event that makes people feel welcome, gives them just a small opportunity to feel that they can participate on their own terms, free of outside constraints... is what liberty is.

Hmm... that turned into a bit of a tangent.. :D I really hope Martin can find some way to help turn things around for his party... or find (or start) another party more in tune with his ideals, if the former seems near impossible.

Most competent, accomplished people I know don't want to spend Wednesday night in the back of a pizza parlor or retirement home being democratically overridden by 20 women who want special Rights. I do attract a small cadre (4 or 5 people) around me, so there probably is a strategy that would work? The fact that I don't mind losing is a great asset.

I consider Martin a living proof of how loose the two political parties in the US are. Reading Martin's views and I wouldn't think of him first being a democrat. (I guess stereotypes have gotten a hold of me)

In an ordinary European political party, anybody who would venture out of the accepted varying range between Hillary and Bernie would immediately be thrown out.

Dr. Hash needs a following, which means he needs to be documenting his daily activities on Instagram and inspiring people in 30 sec snippets.
Build the brand.
Expand the following.
Deliver the message.

If you're not Twittering/Instagramming/Snap Chatting then you're missing all the voters who have copious free time to park their asses in the back of a pizza parlor for a couple hours and dictate the direction of a party.

You come at those clowns with 23k Oregonian followers who are ready to vote in a bloc with you and you've just seized the narrative.
