Hey, Bern Bros are real and a most male Bern supporters I can have a real good conversation with.
Hillary was just a step to far. Her nomination and the rigging the DNC did to put her there was simply too much to take. Literally Give me Trump before give me Death scenario.
Before I am ready to engage the Left the entire Clinton-Obama apparatus has to be removed. The Dem leadership (just like the RNC) is totally compromised by special interests and until they remove that cancer there's no point.

Your kid is lucky, these are exciting times not seen since the 60s. Trump is a symptom: you need to rerun your logic if you think he's the problem.ooky wrote:My kid is learning about political engagement.
p.s. Don't pay attention to polls, the people who support Trump won't participate in them. (You should know that from the election.)

And just to reiterate, I'm an old-school Kennedy Democrat, but Dems are off the rails, going balls out Marxist. I don't see anything stopping them.

^^This! It is a strange phenomenon that there is zero allowance for this perspective. Part of me thinks that this type of shunning will get him a second term, if he wants it. And, for the record, many people support the idea of "Trump" (even his name is evocative), if not the man.

This is EXACTLY the problem. Marching doesn't solve this, if anything it strengthens the marxist agenda and resolve. Trump isn't going to be a great President, but you know what he's not? A marxist.Martin Hash wrote:And just to reiterate, I'm an old-school Kennedy Democrat, but Dems are off the rails, going balls out Marxist. I don't see anything stopping them.

But i noticed that there still are some on who are reasonable, and I did want you all to hear that, after being in despair over bush in 2000 but pretty much on my own in terms of being really concerned, I have never seen such widespread political engagement from such a wide section of the left. We are not whining or ginning up stuff to be upset about or asking for his tax returns to be released for no reason or casting a very critical eye on all the lying about Russia to avoid noticing how much he is "winning". People are truly and deeply unhappy, and it has nothing to do with with what democrat politicians tell us to care about, and right now, a lot of people intend to resist and hold *their* feet to the fire so they will resist too. I guess that makes moments like the other day, when my 6-yo was grabbing my butt and I asked her what she was doing, and she said "Don't worry mommy, I'm not doing it in a bad way like Trump", not wholly horrifying. Anyway, still hope you all are well.
Welcome back Ooky.
Please, break us out of our bubble. Give us 5 or 10 reasons why we should be marching with you. Please, bring a strong argument. Some things we are going to just see differently. You talk about Tax Returns. Federal Law States that Tax Returns are private. If Trump doesn't not wish to release them, that is his right and we shouldn't hold it against him. The whole innocent until proven guilty thing.

This one lives in Hawaii right? Has the audacity to tell us we live in a bubble.
Doesn't get much better in the whole "leftist lack self awareness gene than that." You came in here and said you dismiss counter narratives simply because they run counter to your narrative and expect us to accept that and roll over. No, it doesnt work that way anymore. You dont control the narrative anymore, you don't control the facts. You have to bring it.
