What you are missing is that ACA is the GOP health plan. If Romney had won, it would have been called Romneycare, which is a way more accurate name, and they would have LOVED it.
What they didn't like was Obama and the DNC getting the credit.

In excusable. Even if the GOP actually wants Obama/RomneyCare, they have no ideas on how to improve it.
We are officially done solving problems, we are complacent that shitty laws, institutions and policies will just magically work themselves out one day.

In my lifetime, there is gonna be some massive change, which can only be catalyzed by disaster.
