Denzel Washington is a devout Christian whom I suspect actually leans right. But even if he does lean left, I think he could represent a good direction for the left, far away from the marxism and hatred.

He doesn't have a chance with the Dems then.

Not so sure.

He doesn't flaunt politics at all. He reads the Bible every day, was raised by a preacher, and obviously has the gift for it. He said on one occasion he thinks God's purpose for him was to be a preacher, but he compromised and became an actor.

Democrats are nothing if not gullible. They'd vote for him on identity politics and then get a social conservative who does to the democratic party what Donald Trump did to the republican party. Might want to keep an eye on this one.

If that guy really set his mind to politics, he could be pretty tough. It's not because he is an actor, but because I do happen to think he was meant for something else.

I still say Jim Webb is the best candidate the Dems have, but he might tell them to F-off after how they treated him. Plus, he's smart and he'd never pass the SJW filter.

That is a dead letter for Democrats. Any kind of pro life stance will be a no go. Identity and social issues is all they have left.

One likely democrat candidate is Elizabeth Warren, of course. Drain the Swamp-message, go against special interest and corruption that usually works. Warren has a fair track record on attacking Wall Street. Likely after four years of Goldman Sachs control in the White House there is ample stuff about it. This message works especially well if the economy goes south during the next four years. But somebody like Jim Webb could make it too.

Of course there is a long way to 2020, so just about anything can happen. But likely a Hegelian Pendulum swing happens and we get the über-socialist progressive. The right-wing traditionalist Democrat can also win the nomination if the country yearns for normality.

Likely the one democrat who gets most facetime in bashing Trump is the top contender for the ticket. If the Democrats would learn something from the election, it is not only to tap to the dissappointment of the voters, but simply instill more hatred. And start with outrageous campaign promises, like erasing altogether the Trump/Pence administration by vowing to overturn all legislation and executive orders that Trump has done ever, tear down the wall.

Assuming it will be finished in the first Place.

A Democrat could run on total student loan forgiveness. Don't oppose MAGA, but try to build off of it. I doubt they would do it, though, and the insiders would try to stop them.

Trump already seized the Drain the Swamp message. Her anti-wall street messages play well with the DNC, but messaging will come after they have chosen their candidate based on celebrity, race and gender. She has the gender, and a tiny bit of race with her Native American claims, but she's a politician not an entertainer. That and the fact that she's white will disqualify her in the eyes of the DNC. The DNC will be choosing the next candidate, just like they did HRC. The whole primary process is just show at this point.

But it turns out she is a race hijacker like Dolezol and, for some reason, the left is transracialphobic.
