A Catapult on the Mexico Border Was Used to Hurl Drugs Into U.S.

Federal officials have dismantled a catapult attached to a fence on the Mexico border that was being used to hurl drugs into America.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday that the ancient military device was used to fling at least two bundles of marijuana from Mexico into the U.S. last week.

The agency said in a statement that it has seized the drugs, which weighed about 50 pounds combined. Mexican authorities took the disassembled catapult.

And they say we don't need a wall. I think the forum deserves Monte's analysis as to the efficacy of this device.

From the looks of that picture it almost looks like they took a deer hunting ladder stand and turned into a catapult.

Nothing to do with weight, a new sling which hadn't been tested was used and the guy landed short. Even people who reached the net sometimes bounced straight out and ended up injured. I would be pretty scared of hitting one of the posts holding the net up myself.
It's at a water park, you'd think the safe thing to do would be to throw them into the water but I guess at 60mph that would be pretty dangerous too.
Sometimes when something looks really hazardous and stupid that's just because it is......
