A Public Option doesn't have to be mandatory like it is in Canada, it could be like the NHS: don't like being treated like cattle, pay more for private care. I LIKED the NHS. I'm much more a "cattle" guy than a touchy-feely type. Gimme a no-nonsense doc with no-nonsense drugs, fast, and get me the hell out. (The hospitals I worked at were 100% Medicare/Medicaid & I had NHS care while living in Britain, so I know of which I speak.)

To repeat: I, personally, would take Medicare over private care.

Well, the term, "public option" would mean that people can opt in and opt out from cradle to grave. Although, I also want some control/regulations on drug prices and also a few other medical issues (like heart surgery) to be capped/contained by the government somehow. Like outlawing (and enforcing) a drug company from marking up a drug's price from $25 to $600, overnight.

Dude, even that. Most drugs have generic equivalents. It's manipulation by the Pharms that is causing all the price escalation.

I saw Rand Paul discuss this.I'm on board. surprised Sta is....Rand Paul is his sworn enemy turned chum.... lol. But, I like his ideas. I like most of his ideas, but stop short at selling the grand Canyon to private interests.
