You don't accuse lawyers of being un-Christian because they belong to a lobby group that represents the interests of lawyers. You don't accuse the people of Nebraska of a lack of charity for electing congressmen who look out for the interests of Nebraskans rather than Floridians.

Most interesting to me: nobody accuses blacks of a lack of charity for having a black caucus, or the NAACP. It's only when whites look out for their self-interest that suddenly people start speaking for God's wrath.

Very interesting..
The African American Community voting block has committed itself to have but one purpose: Better the lives of fellow African Americans however they deem fit. It has nothing to do with a commitment to "traditional American values". Their path forward can not be constrained by the Constitution because that is nothing more than trash old, slave-owning, white guys wrote which invalidates it.

I really don't see how white people continue to deny the fact that minorities are using guilt to coerce white people to hurt their own communities in favor of others.

I wonder if we never bused kids from inner-city schools, if the school system would be better? Would impoverished communities take more drastic actions to improve their condition if they had no other choice?

It's not even just blacks.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) believes Hispanics should get amnesty and citizenship to punish Americans who are against illegal immigration.

After he told the La Raza conference in Los Angeles that President Barack Obama gave the Latino community a “down payment” with his temporary amnesty program that halted the deportations “of our people,” Gutierrez urged Hispanics to seek retribution at the ballot box.

Gutierrez addressed the conference this weekend and also spoke on a panel. He said Obama assured him in a White House meeting last week with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus that he would use executive actions to be a “generous and broad” as he can to “stop the deportation of people each and every day,” as Breitbart News reported.

Gutierrez has been one of the biggest proponents of a pathway to citizenship for all of the country’s illegal immigrants.

Plenty of people see the hypocrisy in groups founded on black racial identity speaking out against racism. You haven't uncovered anything there. We know.

Like I said, you don't have to get down in the mud with them.

If you need to pick a side, pick your faith.

The idea of joining up with a bunch of godless white national socialists ought to turn your stomach.

These racial separatists look very much like they want a conflict. Live and let live is not the vibe I get from them. They're gonna end up battling in the streets. The only side I see myself on when that happens is the one that comes down on both of them.

The most successful black immigrant group in America is black west-indians. That's my wife, and all her sisters. I've heard over and over and over from all of them of their first introduction to American black identity politics, how it made no sense to them at all, how they rejected it, and the scorn they got when they did.

You're presenting a false narrative wherein all non-white people are card carrying members of the black panthers or la raza, therefor we must do likewise.

It doesn't have to be all of the demographic to make a big difference. It's enough that they have ethno-nationalist congressman. They have endless laws benefiting them at our expense, and it's an injustice.

More importantly: these injustices happen because other white people support it against their own self-interests. THAT is what I am talking about. Fucking cut that shit out. Worry about your own issues and we can all discuss these issues openly and honestly without screaming RACIST at each other.

I disagree that the solution is to act just like them.

Calling for a white flavored racism to combat black flavored racism is dumb.

I think we should oppose injustice on the principle of justice rather than on the rubric of self-interest.

Ironic, Okee taking this view after coming at me so hard for rejecting the "Keep America White" premise last month.

Anyway, let me share a little anecdote from Thomas Sowell which illustrates why I think StA is right in his assessment, and wrong in his approach.

Catholics and Protestants both need churches. When they want to build churches, they have to hire builders from the same pool, they require the same resources, and function under the same constraints (limited finances). So while they are actually in competition with each other for labor and resources they do not view each other as direct competitors. This is because they're also in competition with everyone else who needs builders and building resources.

Now, imagine that only the government builds churches. Say the government builds 200 new churches a year. Who gets those churches? Catholics? Protestants? Suddenly this indirect, impersonal competition becomes very personal, doesn't it? Protestants can't gain a church without the Catholics losing one and vice versa. You can imagine how the rest of the story goes. How does this change affect the relationship between Protestants and Catholics? It pretty much forces them to be enemies.

Which brings us to StAs observation on identity politics. If we (like I suggest) simply refuse to allow that game to be played, we're all better off. Acquiring jobs, being accepted to colleges, getting home loans, etc, is all based on merit. Much like building materials being regulated by supply/demand price points - jobs, education, home loans, etc, are determined by cold, rational numbers, nothing else. Therefore while we're all competing for the same things, we aren't in direct competition with race/gender X for them.

However - if the battle is going to be waged along the lines of identity politics, then we have the same problem Protestants/Catholics do when only the government is building churches. Blacks cannot win unless another race loses. Gays cannot win unless heterosexuals lose. One group cannot make a gain except that another group takes a loss.

This is the absolute worst way to tackle things. Yet, IF society as a whole decides that identity politics is the name of the game, then StA is quite right. In an era ruled by zero-sum identity politics you're either making gains or losing ground, so all you can do is take the most for your demographic.

That's why I think StA assessed the dynamics of identity politics correctly, but I strongly warn against playing that game at all.

It's not racism to look out for your self-interest.

Racism is Congressman Guiterrez trying to colonize America and wipe out white people. Saying, hey guys, it's not really in our interests to be colonized by Mexicans is not racism.

Depends on how you do it.

Rejecting Martin and siding with Malcolm is the wrong way to go.
