If you can point me to that episode some how id appreciate it is all im saying. if not no biggie. I'll likely listen to the Russian one sooner rather than later.
Shit...
Revolutions is super hard to search.
I think Proudon showed up in the second half of the French Revolution series.
His episodes are challenging to search... he has super short descriptions of the episodes.
A rough guess would be around episode 3.21 or so... December 2014 when you look through his archives.
Better to listen to the whole series though. It's definitely worth it.

Cant listen to all that, don't have time or desire for that. I'm spending my listening time catching up on the rise of Hitler and Fascism in general. Cheers!

You might be interested to know that my mother grew up under Hitler and father under Franco.
I have both of their memoirs.
And my mom is still alive and sharp as a tack.
Ask me anything.

Who were your family members allied with under those regimes ? Were they Christians ? Particularly how did your father remember the Spanish Civil war and the immediate aftermath ?

So my Mom is Christian - her family was Catholic but attended Protestant Churches as well. Her mother was Swiss and her father was German. My maternal grandfather was a bastard and did not know his own father... one wonders if he was the product of rape or some other soldier-civilian coupling during WW1... my maternal grandmother was his second wife his first having died of cancer, he was a lot older than my grandmother and was a school teacher and then a school principal. He was moved with his family into occupied Poland to be the principal of a school there and later they had to flee when the Russians arrived like a storm front during the end of the war. My mother witnessed the fire bombing of Dresden at a distance. Her older half brother was a Nazi soldier and fought and was captured at Leningrad. He was a prisoner in Siberia and survived because he was an excellent chess player. My grandfather was secretly opposed to the Nazis and protected my mother and her brothers from Hitler Youth attendance as long as he could. He kept his opposition a carefully guarded secret even from his children.

My father was nominally Catholic but males in Spain rarely attended church in the area my father grew up in. His mother attended faithfully throughout her life. My paternal grandfather was a tavern owner and secretly sided with the Republicans. He allowed Nationalists to meet in his tavern as well and played both sides for the purposes of survival. My father was present as a child when two Guardia Civil showed up to arrest his father. His father refused to go with them and told them they would have to shoot him right there in front of his family. They liked my grandfather and simply chose to walk away without him. My father recalls police taking away prisoners and them calling out republican slogans as they drove past in trucks never to return. In the aftermath the area of Granada where my father grew up was like an occupied area. There were Guardia Civil stations and I remember this as a young kid in the 70s. They were like military outposts with armed guards overlooking the city streets. Noone messed with the Guardia.

10.3 The Three Pillars of Marxism

Basically a primer on Marxism.

The three pillars being

German Philosophy - Hegel... He gives us superficial overview.

British Economics - He explains basic Marxist vocabulary and principles

French Socialism and Revolutionary Theory - which he will get to next episode.

These bitty little 1/2 hour episodes are painful... but I will persevere.

The interesting bit for me was Marx's enormous leap to the concept of exploitation.
The worker as pure victim and the capitalist as pure perpetrator.
These black and white views continue on to the current day.
