Notes:
Fraud, corruption, cronyism – symbols of injustice no matter where you are in the world. While perhaps not home to the worst examples of abuse of power, America has certainly had its share. Yet despite a reputation for freedom from government overreach enshrined in its constitution, when the government actually does overstep its authority, people in America rarely if ever rise up to challenge it. But in August of 1946 in Athens, Tennessee, a group of battle-hardened veterans freshly home from war did just that – and won. What made their revolt successful – which resulted in zero fatalities and a swift removal of the most corrupt elements of the local government – is an inspiration and worthy of careful study for anyone faced with an entrenched authority that has overstepped its mandate and infringed on the rights of its citizens.

Notes:
What makes a people – shared history, a common geography, a divine purpose – these are elements that to varying degrees make up most nations’ identity. In the case of the WASPs, a cultural and geographic dispersion over time and space has made answering the question of their roots harder than for most. But to Professor Andrew Fraser, who has had a distinguished career teaching law at the University of Queensland and Macquarie University for over 30 years, it is the essential question. As a scholar of history and religion, authoring multiple works on the the topics of jurisprudence, Trinitarian Christianity, and the origins of the Anglo-Saxons and as a native of Canada with Australian citizenship and Scottish heritage, Professor Fraser has a unique perspective on what makes the Anglican culture worth preserving, and perhaps more importantly, what it may take to make that happen.

Re: The Myth of the 20th Century
The 20th C was the century of Collectivism and mass murder that ensued.
Humans took the Technological and Scientific of the advances of the 19th C and handed them over to Collectivists who turned them into instruments of death.

Re: The Myth of the 20th Century
Listening to their podcasts and learning more about the Spanish Civil War has made me view the 20th century as an era dominated as a long duration conflict between Communism, Liberalism, and idk the best word for it ? Reaction/Tradition ? and really it started around at least 1789 in it prototype form.
As far as this specific podcast and the hosts well they're an interesting, sophisticated, nuanced group of dudes. After I listened to a couple of episodes all the way through I figured they were reactionary for the most part but not necessarily fascist or ultra religious either. They also didn't completely sound like Richard Spencer or Greg Johnson but its funny they do have a non gay Jack Donavan character that's in their rotation frequently. I think his name is James LaFound *(allegedly a fight club type of dude from the 80s that was/is part of the men's movement without the gay poetry )
It refreshing to hear such a good podcast that takes a historical lens to their topics, is right of center, but isn't party biased at all really.

Re: The Myth of the 20th Century
I see it a little differently, IMO Collectivism is the dominate power that drove the 20th C. Colonial Monarchies were dying, and people attempted to replace them with various forms of collectivism. Communist, Facist, or Progressive.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 8:13 pmListening to their podcasts and learning more about the Spanish Civil War has made me view the 20th century as an era dominated as a long duration conflict between Communism, Liberalism, and idk the best word for it ? Were there any major ideologies that delivered more freedom and liberty to its citizens ?

I don't see what your saying in the first paragraph as meaningfully different from what I said? Not in essence. Can you elaborate.
