Seriously, people--is everyone eating the same stuff? Not even the shit that comes out of Carlin's ass is original anymore.

Manhattan Project scientists, concerned about the first atomic weapons, founded the nonprofit Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists in 1945. They created the clock two years later, and update its minute hand each year.
Ya know. Fake news and stuff.

The Doomsday Clock discredits itself by engaging in rational arbitrage with two stage fission-fusion entropy.

The Little Rock Titan II, classic case of. 9Mt subterranian burst in Arkansas; oof, that would have been a history altering event to say the least, Castle Bravo for the masses.

It's a good thing that a fuel explosion can't create a nuclear chain reaction. :snooty:

Oh it most certainly can, particularly that generation of warhead, the explosion can cause the circuit to fire on the initiator.

Break that down for me. Fuel Explosion = electrical switch pushed (by magic) but not all the other hardware needed to create a coordinated explosion on the fissionable material?

It was analogue 1950's technology, the circuits were quite rudimentary, the electricity in the circuit is moving near the speed of light, so the explosion is actually expanding in slow motion in comparison, the circuit can fuse in the heat and make the connection to fire the initiator over the breaker, long before the blast wave reaches the warhead.

So, in your obviously educated opinion, the entire firing mechanism for this ICBM missile was activated by this?

The safety mechanism on a Titan II was the same as a 1950s lightswitch, so yeah, basically. There's a current running to a breaker, if the breaker fuses in the heat, the circuit is closed, that fires the fission warhead, which then initiates the deuterium capsule.

9Mt's detonated just below the surface, for maximum fallout, right in the middle of the CONUS.
