He'll have to find a new source of income too.
Because he's peddling your message to the 69% of non-income tax payers who hate capitalism and America.
And they ain't donating shit to you.
They don't have shit.

Better get a corporate or government sponsor.
And maybe that's what he did.
Maybe his CENTCOM pals saw the free-wheeling DCF gaining momentum over years and said "shit, better get this dude on the gravy train because who knows where this group could be headed".

Probably not.
But interesting to think aobut.

I just remember how he went on & on relentlessly about the NSA

he was all with Snowden, Assange & Greenwald at the time

and yet now he is literally on their payroll

I guess you would have to find a completely new fanvbase after that, it was a one hundred eighty degree turn on a dime
Hes now the Ben Shapiro of the Left.
I don't really know Ben Shapiro, he's never been on my radar

well, it's not like he's Joe Rogan

Carlin's schtick is not going to get you a hundred million from Spotify

there was never anything that spectacular about his act

I gather that Hardcore History was his main money maker, but I've honestly never listened to a single HH episode

he operates at a very basic level, he's not actually an historian

I never thought, wow, this guy knows things I don't know

I always thought, this is just stock late 70's early 80's Liberal griping, same old, same old

they were against the original MAGA back in 1980, no surprise Dan wasn't up for the comeback in 2016

Well, you may want to listen to an HH episode before deciding he's a no-talent, pedestrian podcaster.
I mean, if that were true you should be able to pull the same numbers and attention with your history podcast, right?
Being just an average Joe, nothing special, non-historian.
Anyone should be able to do it.

Yeah, honestly - without listening to HH, you have no idea what you’re talking about. You’d actually love it.

I tried to listen to a couple of them, but I got bored pretty quick

I mean, I can just go to the original sources, in most cases I had already read what Carlin was reading aloud into the mike

Carlin drank the same liberal Kool-Aid I was raised on.
Indoctrination from the creche.
He thought he could win over the right by "taking their perspective"...
And being a peacemaker.

But the left is all about "fake" peacemaking and "peacekeeping".
But what they actually want is to win the argument.
They don't understand the right.... but they want to seduce them to their viewpoint.
It IS creepy.

I should know about creepy.
Because apparently Smitty-48 sees be as another Dan Carlin.
The enemy In your midst.
Here to seduce you to join the left.

When actually I come here to keep breaking me out of the mind fuck you helped me break out of in the first place.
At least Dan Carlin helped me find the antidote.
Not from his show... but by leading me to his forum.
Which he then had to blow up.

It's ironic.

He is very talented at putting together stories and personalizing them. While bring able to keep the big strategic view from getting lost (generally).

nah, I was never that impressed with Carlin's shows, I just liked the forum

the forum was unique, no moderation, nobody got banned, that was the only reason I was there

the whole "theatre of the mind" thing wasn't interesting to me, I know far more about war than Carlin does, I don't need him to tell me

the thing that I respected about Carlin was his forum

and the fact that he would come down on to his own forum and argue

I was always his foil, I always took the contrarian poistion, challenged his assertions

and that was fine with him, up to the point where I called him Hanoi Dan, that was a bridge too far

then he went CENTCOM

then he basically stopped coming on the forum after that, he disappeared back into his Ivory Tower
