Turn off the television, bro. Take the red pill.

No offense but I thought of you.TheReal_ND wrote:Heh. Why do I think he's thinking of me when he's describing the shooter? lel
And more importantly, early on Dan was like "someone wrote a letter calling me an old irrelevant liberal and it really cut me up."
So
Which one of you wrote it?
Anyway, too early to comment as I only listened to the beginning, might have missed CM's Good, Bad and Ugly, if he in fact posted it here.
I've been on a hardcore Jordan Petersen kick, got no time for this Dan Carlin stuff.

also, I just got hit with a targeted real estate ad advertising which cities have the highest percentage of Republican voters.
1.) nice, because those are the only places worth investing in real estate, but to the point:
2.) the Great Sorting between left and right continues

Finally finished listening to it.
Chicken Little Panic Scale: 9 out of 10 - or as long time listeners would call it, an average show.
Biggest Disappointment: Leftists or Nazis? That's it? Comparison after comparison there are only leftists or . . . Nazis? Disappointing.
Biggest Kudo: The entire riff on "nazi-punchers" justifying the crackdowns that lead to the totalitarianism they claim to be against.
Biggest Irony: Wrapping up the "Civil War" Chicken little screed with anecdotes about how 50 years ago things we infinitely worse (70's bombings)
Like Dan.
Wish he was a little less hostile to the right.
Especially since he's a businessman, and if he thinks the new left is his buddy then it is he who has not been paying attention.
DC: Thank God it's leftists, otherwise it would be Nazis, of course.

He's the most insightful, self-aware person I've ever heard. I'd suspect him of Metahood but there's not much else to show.apeman wrote:I've been on a hardcore Jordan Petersen kick
p.s. He says things I say, but as an instructor he's very practiced at it, which comes across as more cogent, and in many cases it is. I'd rather listen to Jordan Peterson than any philosopher that ever lived.

Yes, his ability to communicate is crystal clear, inspired me to practice increasingly more effective communication, and the results so far have been really encouraging. Podcast #4 blew my mind.Martin Hash wrote:He's the most insightful, self-aware person I've ever heard. Since shit posting with you assholes for like only 2 years, I am no longer an atheist, am less libertarian, bought my first gun and want another, and probably more.
Assholes.
Anyway back on topic, just saw this:
CA bans state-funded travel to 8 states, more signs of massive division. As Sacbee.com reports, all totaled, California now bans most state-funded travel to eight states. The new additions to California’s restricted travel list are Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and South Dakota. They join Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee as states already subjected to the ban.
California Attorney Xavier Becerra announced the new states at a Thursday press conference, where he was joined by representatives from ACLU Northern California and Equality California.
“We will not spend taxpayer dollars in states that discriminate,” Becerra said.
California’s Legislature last year voted to restrict state-funded travel to states with laws that allow businesses to deny services to gay and transgender people.

Dan can neatly break down reality into X and Y, vocalize his over-simplified theory, and then be the master of it. Done and done, that was easy!DBTrek wrote: Biggest Disappointment: Leftists or Nazis? That's it? Comparison after comparison there are only leftists or . . . Nazis? Disappointing.

Dan Carlin's "Day of the Derp."Dan Carlin wrote:the Portland stabbing suspect was a Sanders supporter? I don't see anything that backs up that claim. He's a white supremacist.
How could a Bernie bro possibly be a white supremacist? Dan's wearing blinders.
I personally believe the guy was nuts--that's not a default position for me--unlike the Welsh van driver who plowed into the Muslims (for example); but the Portland slasher had Bernie bro written all over his FaceBook page. The only way Dan couldn't see that was by not looking, and he tried to use it to counterbalance the attempted assassination of Republican congressmen!
So, there you go--he sets himself off as seeing The Hated boiling over on both sides before tripping the light fantastic back to the sixties when things were really bad.
Whatev's, Dan Blather.
