Well if what comes next is truly transcendent then it will be neither.... and maybe it will be both... or some other permutation we can't imagine yet.Hastur wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 5:13 amWritten language made empires possible. The nation state requires a common story, language and history. The Hebrew Bible made the Jewish state possible.
Feudalism is a version of empire. Disparate parts brought together by force of arms and inheritance.
The printing press gave all cultures the means to get what was needed to form a nation. It destroyed the empires and feudal states, bringing most people with a common culture into separate nation states.
Now we have the Internet ascending as the new information paradigm, and the nation states are being diluted as the membranics of nations starts to fail.
I have no idea what comes next. New tribes perhaps, or a new global empire.
Maybe the next Nietzsche will declare that God is dead but that the man-God is a responsible dude who doesn't burn down the village to save the village.... and therefore maybe God is alive again somehow... embodied by the Man-Mensch.
And maybe that next Nietzsche will be a Man-Mensch.... instead of a source of ridicule... and a walking contradiction.
I think Jordan Peterson is trying hard to be that Nietzsche... maybe he is trying a bit too hard... he is certainly showcasing his own martyrdom to some extent... it can be painful to bear witness to.
Cooper is trying also... again... too hard... not sure.
Rogan? Can't say for sure. But he is a contender at some level.
Maybe they are all horsemen of the new age.
I hope so.
