1. Bored at work

2. See this thread, read like two pages two days ago.

3. Open up most recent page to get a feel for the mood in this thread.

4. See quote.

5. ..... guess ill have to read some earlier pages to get the context on that gangbang.

6. At least this forum is entertaining.

I think 2005.

I would be very surprised if Dan is actually doing the work for these podcasts anymore. He's probably using something like Coursehero or Sparknotes to generate content and then he literally just reads it the night before. That guy is a real lowlife sperm suck ass trick.

Why would he care about what History on Fire does?
Because Dan would take 6+ months for 6ish hours of content, whereas DB can do 4 episodes in 4 months for, at a minimum, the same amount of content? That, and I think it was just something decided by Dan as not to step on his friend's toes.

Now, should Dan care? Probably not. Maybe he should focus on more content, more often?
Was he really doing Mexico? When Daniele statrted his series, he mentioned that Dan had thought about doing it in the future and decided not to. On the HOF interview the impression I got was that Dan was working on something else entirely when he scraped it.

And its not his best one, but its such a great story overall that it almost doesn't matter even if he isn't presenting it in the best way or as good as Dan would. Hard to mess up an epic like that. Its been decently done IMO but not great. The story is great but its not b/c of him telling it.
I think Dan's delivery has gone down though. Peak Carlin is the Death Throes of the Republic series. He has never reached that level of quality again in my opinion. I still enjoy his shows, but he has not matched that series. I'm pretty bummed out about that.
Lies. Wrath of Khans and Blueprint for Armageddon are the best podcasts I've ever heard.
All three are in my top five, but Death Throes does beat out Armageddon.

HOF is better than Dan. Bolleli should be on wopornot.com Dan is just clinging to brand recognition at this point. He spends too much time with his martian perspective bullshit. Dan this would be cool if you hadn't tread this theme to death in a bunch of old episodes. How about getting to the goddamn point? I don't donate, but if I did I would certainly demand a refund! I don't need to hear about how crazy it was that the Romans were different than the Celts. Every show we hear this shit. Find a new angle buddy.

I wish I had donated to the show, so these complaints wouldn't ring so hollow, but Dan's shit is pretty weak at this point. He needs to start coming up with a different format. I would like to see just interview shows, as I'm sure everyone on this board would too. After all, the people he interviews know way more than he does, so we actually learn something by listening to them.

There is zero need for Dan to do interview shows. There is way more stories out there worthy of being told. And he is a great storyteller.
-American Revolution
-Salem With Trials
-Inquisition
-Crusades---any of them
-Pizarro / Incas
-Fall of Constantinople
-Fall of the Roman Empire///not Republic
-Vietnam
-Feudal Japan
-Mongolian Invasion of Japan
-Attila the Hun
-Cuban Revolution
-French Revolution
-etc, etc, etc,

He already did fall of rome. Probably won't do any of those other topics. I'm not sure Dan has the skill to do any of those, though a three parter on the Missouri Compromise would be interesting, as a lot of pivotal things happened around that time.
