Just caught up to his latest podcast.

The latest one was the abdication of Nicholas Romanov.... too little, too late.

He has done a great job of painting the portrait of his stubborn ineffectiveness, his clueless and over-involved wife Alexandra and her BFF Rasputin.

The Russian people are fed up and starving, the war is being mismanaged, the Russian women raised the angry crowds on International women's day, the army is in revolt and time is up....

I'm guessing Lenin and company are just about to be sent on their infamous railcar... to take the reins of the chaos... and steer it directly into hell.

I have also ordered his book about Lafayette... I didn't really love his first book, but this one sounds more interesting.

Love love love this podcast. Ive always had a hard time connecting the czarist overthrow to the Stalinist purges.
Similar to connecting the French Revolution to Napoleon. Some areas of history deserve a deeper telling.

We are blessed indeed to live in the age of history podcasting.

Man it makes you want to just go back and time and shake Nickolas Romanov…. Show him the time machine results of his actions…. You can stop this from happening!

You can certainly blame Nicki for destroying the empire, but is that a direct line to gulags? I hope he doesn’t stop with the romanovs.

I'm pretty sure he is going to take us to the Bolshevik take over...
Short line from there to the Gulags.
I can't see him skipping that part... but when is the Revolution over?
It's always a hard decision point as where to call it.
