Good episode, Martin.
Social Security has been a criminal Ponzi scheme since the day it was enacted.
Unfunded pensions for public union members are just ordinary street crime.
What can't continue, won't.

Social Security, as a concept, is quite sustainable, even in the face of the demographic winter. As l9ng as Congress does not raid the funds, and each generation pays for their own.

Government can NOT save money. It’s impossible; what, are they going to put it in a bank? That money’s not “saved” either. Are they going to bury paper bills under the Treasury? There is no way to “save” imaginary money. SS is a Ponzi scheme, period. But so what, government can print whatever money it needs when they need it. The Demographic Winter IS real though because can the working population really support so many consumers? No, and this podcast has the numbers.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 9:16 amSocial Security, as a concept, is quite sustainable, even in the face of the demographic winter. Yeah - but will it drive your family into slavery before it ends? and when it ends, will they be able to escape their bondage?

That works as long as inflation is less than or equal to economic growth....otherwise, the COLA can't keep up.

Zax, dude, as I keep saying: any problem imaginary money can fix, let it. All the accounting is a distraction; the amount of money isn’t tied to anything, nor should it be.
