Virtual Civil War

The ideological difference between people in America has split so wide that what one side takes for fact, the other side considers fiction, what the other side says sounds incoherent & nonsensical to the other. We have separated beyond communication or understanding: people watch their own news, have their own entertainment, believe their own facts, and most conversations, if we can manage to have one, end without resolution. At this point the only thing we seem to agree on is that democracy no longer works. Even though we are not separating from each other physically, it is a virtual separation - There is a New Civil War, a Virtual Civil War.

p.s. The "other side" is mostly folks who won't be around in 10 years, so the "war" may simply be a fait accompli.
