Not the whole thing, only standing in the aisle at the bookstore about a decade ago. He was also a guest on a podcast, "Freakanomics" I think? I'll look at it again but since he himself is no Meta, he's not looking at the right things.

You're the 2nd person to mention him. I need to give him another look.

I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for? Every time I really dig into somebody's personality, they seem odd but not obviously superior, but maybe wisdom isn't a defining quality? Probably their insight is in another area that I can't recognize because I don't have it.
Those are fair questions and maybe there is the aspect that conflates uniqueness to meta. I am not sure how you define superior. I think of it more in terms of iconoclasts. Those that break the mold and are clearly cutting their own path through the jungle of life, come what may.

I wish I could have a 10-minute conversation with each of these people. I'm egotistical enough to think I could tell if they were "Meta," if there even is such a thing. People have been chasing after spiritual leaders for all of recorded history. Was it all just wishful thinking? My personal experience leads me to think not.

Spiritual leader? I would agree. New insights and perspectives? Undoubtedly. J. Krishnamurti said something along the lines of, that once you heard his message then you should leave. The point wasn't to sit and listen to him.

Too many people just want to sit and listen rather than hear and go do.

I am curious to see where you take this meta list and what your results are.

The whole premise of the book is figuring out what makes great people, great. You should at least consider it as a data point.
Account abandoned.
