The election thing really has to be hard. I don't blame you for venting over that.

I had a great time. The concerning part is how the Dem Party has become Socialist OWG haters. Plus, I’ve lost all faith in elected officials. Certainly the Dems are anti-American, but I don’t know about the Rs. Unfortunately, as you pointed out in an earlier post, profit-seeking Rs at society’s expense, are no better than Socialist Ds.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:32 pmThe election thing really has to be hard. I don't really know the answer. One party or the other has to be conquered by normal Americans and they need to purge that party of the cancer. We had a good chance with Trump, but he kind of blew it when he started appointing neocons everywhere.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:12 pmI had a great time. I think at this point the average republican voter is far more amenable to reason than the average democrat voter, though the reasonable democrats seem to be a fair number still, though sitting it out for the time being.

Trump is still the best bet but his only supporters seem to be average citizens; none of the existing power structure has sided with him. He’s basically fighting alone, with a little help from YouTubers and Hannity.

I don't think there's any answer other than a viable third party. Being forced into a binary choice every 2 years is not even worth participating in.

The point is "business" (in the generic sense) is indistinguishable from "people." A man's right to speak, think, interact voluntarily with others, &c. (1st amendment stuff) as he chooses is meaningless if separated from his property (his commerce, or his "business").
You know that I'm against corporatism, I'm guessing after all these years. Hell, you know that I'm against corporations, period, as a generic legal construct. I'm also against all forms of intellectual property created by state fiat. If we agree to eliminate state chartered "business," i.e., corporations, LLCs, public corporations, &c., and state-created intellectual property, will that start us down the road of restricting the speech of "business?" It can't speak if it doesn't exist.
That's my initial peace offering on reducing the supply of offensive lobbying speech.
Just found this thread. Nice debate going on.
Fife: Why are you against corporations, LLCs, and IP?
If you could restructure society and eliminate these concepts, what would be an ideal way to organize commerce so that goods and services could efficiently reach large numbers of people who live very far apart? It seems like you need large business entities to do this effectively like the ones above.

You don't need the state for these entities; and you certainly don't need the state-issued monopoly. Quite the opposite.heydaralon wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 1:46 pmFife wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:26 amWayment, we talking about the franchise now? Look up the Kinsella stuff as a starter course on this.
